Hi
I’m down to my last dregs of Bareminerals Ready presser powder foundation. It’s the best foundation I’ve ever had.
They have discontinued it!!! I got my last few from eBay but there are non left there either
The replacement has terrible reviews , most of them saying it is substandard

Anyone who used to use it, what did you switch to?
Or has anyone got any other recommendations for pressed powder foundation?

Could you not just switch to their loose powder? It's easy to apply.

Comps83 · 22/06/2019 09:47

I used to use it. But found it so messy

I was also gutted about this. I've switched to this, which I find quite similar, and is also much cheaper!

Were you using Ready? Bare minerals have a new pressed powder foundation which is supposed to be better but I haven’t tried it

I only use mineral foundation and my favourites are:

Laura Mercier - this was fantastic but it wasn’t available for a bit as they repackaged and they might have also discontinued I’m not sure (sorry)

Laura Geller Double take foundation - this is probably the best I’ve ever used with fantastic coverage

Laura geller balance and brighten - also very good but I would say very slightly more natural looking than Double Take and a bit less coverage

They do Laura Geller in Debenhams and the like so you could go in and try it out. Also see videos on QVC website for more info

Sorry just saw you were using Ready

Also wanted to say I got a few lots of Ready in TK Maxx but was a few months ago. I got the single pressed foundation and also a palette that contained the foundation, powder, bronzer, highlighter, foundation and brushes. I got a few as they were cheap and I liked it. Worth checking out your local TK Maxx too.

Thanks
I also found a palette in tk maxx. And some single foundations that were the wrong shade
I’ll look into the alternatives people have suggested
I haven’t tried their new powder . Reluctant to spend the money after reading all the reviews saying it is no where near as good as Ready

Online reviews suggest it’s better (see Wayne Goss on YouTube) but I did like Ready. You could try out the new BM and Laura Geller at a counter if you have one near you. My local Debenhams has both. I hope you find something as it is fitting when your fave foundation disappears.

Also I found in tk Maxx a too faced powder foundation that was good. Don’t think it was mineral but it worked and think it smelled of chocolate. Also the benefit powder foundation (hello flawless) gives good coverage. I prefer BM and Laura Geller to both of those but they might be worth a look.

There’s a pressed powder foundation by a brand called Pur that gets good reviews. I’m tempted to try it.

You should give the Bare Minerals loose powder another try. Pour it into a larger lid so it's less messy and use the Beautiful Finish brush (application with this is superior to a regular powder brush).

Also, have you tried Laura Geller Balance and Brighten? That's pressed and I've been using it for years!

Comps83. I used the ready compact and adored it.
So much so that I mailed BareMinerals about how disappointed I was they had discontinued it. 😊.

I have tried a good few since and am using the BareMinerals original loose powder foundation. The coverage is buildable and amazing for me. I have rosacea so need an excellent coverage. The new Bare Pro pressed powder foundation I found awful. Very very drying on my skin.
I've also tried the new bare pro liquid foundation but the coverage isn't great for me. I need to top up with the loose powder.
So I suppose it depends on how much coverage you are looking for.

I can also recommend the Urban Decay allnighter, Estee Lauder double wear, Max Factor radient lift and the Catrice HD liquid coverage foundation. These are all great for coverage. Oh and the Rimmell lasting finish (red lid) .

HTH.

The new pressed foundation by Bareminerals (bare pro) I think its called is the best, hands down powder foundation I've tried (and I ve tried a lot ) its not chalky at all and just looks like flawless skin (my skin is combination/oily)

lindyloo57 · 26/06/2019 17:49

I use the max factor powder foundation I find it good for me.
