Pale pink silk vest top

I want one to wear under a kimono top for a night out! I bought one from Amazon recently, very much against my better judgement, because it was the only thing that was anywhere near what I wanted, but it came from China, it definitely wasn't silk, and it was ludicrously small. Oh well, it only cost about £4.

I want the vest to be:

Long enough to sit over my hips
Silk or something similar-looking
Powder pink
Vest-style, i.e. like a sleeveless t shirt, no spaghetti straps or racer backs
Round necked or a shallow v

Know you of such a garment?

You might be better to go to a dressmaker with your amazon buy and ask if they can source material and make one to your specifications?

Schmoo wow, your Google skills are way better than mine. The Principles one would be ideal - will nip to Debenhams tomorrow and see if they have it to try on.The champagne Autograph one might work by itself, as the kimono has bits of that colour in the pattern.

I like the MaxMara one, but not confident of their sizing? I assume it comes up small, and it would be a lot to spend if it wasn't right. Similarly... the Reiss one is nice but I am far too fat for their stuff. The others will definitely be investigated, though. Thank you!

Patra normally has a pale pink silk vest top, but unfortunately this year their colours don’t include pale pink. There’s a lilac but definitely not powder pink.

I know they’re not a high fashion brand but pretty good value for silk items.

MaxMara doesn't come up small. It's a brand for women rather than young girls iyswim & I've always found the sizing very reliable.

What's the sizing like for Patra? I might order one of those vests in black. Was going to get a linen jersey one but think this might last longer.

The kimono might also work with pale aqua blue and, at a push, cream - but I had the idea of pink fixed in my mind as the ideal option iyswim. I'll check out all the pink options and if none of them work out, I'll have a look at Patra.

CruCru Ted Baker stuff is lovely but unfortunately it hates me and my body shape! Half the time I can't get their largest size over my hips, and even if I can, they don't cut their tops very well for people with boobs. It makes me sad but that's life...

I find Patra quite true to size, if a little generous. I don't have this top though - I've got a couple of their silk shirts from when I was trying to channel Gillian Anderson in The Fall

Max Mara isn’t good if you’re pear shaped; better if you’re an apple or have a bit of a belly. H&M have similar tops too. Not real silk but cosy enough.

I thought I'd update you all on what I went for, since you helped me find it - after managing to try on in store the Principles and the Autograph vests, I decided they weren't quite right, and ordered the Max Mara. Here it is on me with the top and jeans I'm planning to wear it with.

It ticks all the boxes in my OP, so I'm really pleased with it. The only issue, which I was kind of expecting with silk, is that it's very see-through. I'm wearing a white vest top under it here, but I think I'll have a look at getting a cami slip in M&S so that it hangs right. Other than that - result!

I think Zara have some at the moment. Off to check...
