Revisiting bikini for first time since childbirth

I go on holiday in a week

I used to wear bikinis pre children.
I’ve never been that toned but was slim enough to feel ok wearing one.

For the first 2 years after having a baby I wore a swimming costume.

The place we are going to is forecast to be very hot - 35 degrees or so most days

I’m thinking a bikini is needed, only I still have a c section shelf.

I’ve seen bikinis with higher bottoms but do they actually end up being as flattering as you hope?

What should I be looking for and where?!

I’m a size 32DD, 12 on top, 14 on hips and bum

I wear high waisted bikinis a lot, but am a different shape to you so can't comment on that - though I am due for my second c-section next week so hope this is helpful. Do you wear joni jeans? I think the effect is similar, so if those look good - you'll be fine. However, if the high waisted bottoms are just to hide the scar - I think you shouldn't worry about it. I'm covered in quite wild looking scars, spent a long time hating them, but now I think I just look pretty badass. I bet you look stunning.

I am a huge fan of Oysho, or maybe something like this? I would recommend an underwired or halterneck bikini top. We are the same size and I couldn't go without!

Get the bikini! No one cares about someone else’s c-section shelf and being too hot in a swimsuit will be miserable. I’m a different size to you but I do quite like a high waisted bikini. PP’s oysho recommendation is excellent, they’re good quality for the crazy cheap prices. Or if your budget is s bit bigger Boden is pretty good for bikinis that actually cover your bottom! I think they have some high waisted styles this year.

I have just bought a bikini (first time wearing since having kids) from Pour Moi following some recommendations on here. They do folded bottoms which were good to hide the csection shelf but not as high as the high waisted ones. Proper structured tops too. Lots of varieties online. Just got to actually go through with wearing it now!

The first couple of bikinis i bought post-children had bigger bottoms to give more coverage and hide the c-section shelf. They just made me look bigger overall! So now i wear what i want and like, i doubt anyone is looking is looking at my belly and if they are, fuck 'em.
