Going grey/white? [with pics]

Seriously contemplating taking the plunge and going for it but can't work out the best way forward, and most people IRL that I've mentioned it to are a bit anti...

Think my inclination is to get the colour chopped off but that's a big step as I haven't had my hair shorter than chin length for about 30 years! Length in pics has only been for last three months, have had it shoulder length or longer for the last 6-7 years.

You can see the white at the front - I think at least 60% of my hair would be that colour without the dye, and possibly more like 80%. I'm 45, fair skinned, rosy cheeks/lips, blue eyes. My hair is naturally curly but thinning compared to the mop I had when I was young.

Am I mad to go for it? Think cutting it off worries me more than the dye - can always change my mind about that! A friend suggested getting the lengths dyed white/grey to match but really not convinced that will work.

I’d be tempted to go for a pixie crop, go big or go home! You do have lovely curls, but when they grow back all the same colour they’ll look so much better than trying to live with the badger look for months (I get a stripe after a couple of days - seriously considering doing this myself!)

I would leave it because you're hair is quite light anyway.
I've just gone grey and shaved my hair but I always have a pixie cut anyway.

I can’t see much colour in it anyway op so I’d just leave it if I were you

ok - the "go big or go home" message appeals but keeping length also appeals! those pics are from about 10 days ago and I can get away with not colouring till towards end July (on holiday for a few weeks) so will wait and see if I can get the blonde bits lighter again with ongoing use of silverising shampoo...
