Hareem pants style things everyone was so pleased with.

They’re not called hareem pants but that kind of thing. I had the thread bookmarked but DH decided to do some “thing” on the computer and it’s gone.

I’m off on holiday at the end of the month. I can’t do shorts or dresses cause of my arse and lots of walking. So baggy style trousers that everyone was raving about are the solution.

Can be paired with a vest and sandals. That’s all I remember.

Help me! What were they? And where did they come from? I want to say Amazon.

I remember that thread but didn't watch it so I'm not much help except to bump this and wait in hope that someone else remembers because I wouldn't mind getting some due to similar arse issues.

Fatted · 18/06/2019 21:23

Don't do it OP!! They're hideous! And flatter no one.

RolyWatts · 18/06/2019 21:25

They are great but the ones from other thread weren't 3/4 length I think @ILiketheNiceCereal. I have a problem with 3/4 length due to being short. I'm painting a delightful picture eh?

EssentialHummus · 18/06/2019 21:26

I think if you mumsnet search Harem/hareem and "hush" and "ebay" they'll come up, that's what I remember from that discussion.

Fatkins · 18/06/2019 21:52

I bought Hush harem pants last year after reading about them on here and they were fucking vile on me. And super expensive. I sent them back.

I did used to have a jersey pair from ASOS Tall which were fab, but they stopped making them I think. They were slim fitting.

I also tried the more slim fitting Hush ones - also vile. I don't think Hush stuff is built for my shape tbh.

Next do some called Jersey Joggers, they are tapered at the ankle but not cuffed. Comfy but not too baggy. I had some patterned ones last year from Primark - they were only around £6 but didn't last well and don't even know if they do them again this year. The Next ones around £20 and wear quite well IME.

shinynewapple · 18/06/2019 22:09

@Iamtheworst there is a thread going at the moment called 'comfy trousers anyone' and @eatenbydinosaurs links to the thread you are talking about!!! (Sorry I don't know how to link myself)

NEtoN10 · 18/06/2019 22:16

I didn't see that thread but this might help?

I've just had a baby and none of my summer dresses fit and sick of trying to squeeze myself into unflattering clothes I bought a load of very cheap soft trousers palazzo, harem and soft style from George Asda. Pretty designs and easy just to pair with a vest top. I also love a jumpsuit. Worth a look.

Sontagsleere · 18/06/2019 22:19

Was it slouchies?!

Iamtheworst · 18/06/2019 22:20

Thanks everyone! I’m so beyond caring that I’ll like Ursula the sea witch. I want to be comfy and not boiling.

I grew up with my grandmother wearing hareem pants (they are called patiala style in India and come with short tunic tops). They look awful on anyone who isn’t skinny (and curvy with a small waist and small hips / thighs) . I’d say a size 8 is probably the maximum before they start to make you look dumpy - unless you’re tall.

Straight / wide legged linen or jersey trousers do tend to look better over all.

Fibbke · 18/06/2019 22:25

I bought the ones from Amazon recommended in here and they were minging

Comfiest trousers you can get away with going out of the house inhttp://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/styleandd_beauty/3538798-Comfiest-trousers-you-can-get-away-with-going-out-of-the-house-in

Rathkelter · 19/06/2019 09:45

I bought some Next jersey tapered joggers that look like the Hush ones. My size-8 friend looked fab in hers but I look fat and frumpy so they are my after work slob on the sofa trousers now. I can't bear the sight of them in the mirror!
Have you seen these FatFace cuffed ones www.fatface.com/women/clothing/jeans-trousers/tribal-triangle-cuffed-trousers/946286.html?dwvar_946286_color=phantom&dtm_campaign=shopping&dtm_channel=ppc&dtm_source=google&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI45HA3ZP14gIVSDPTCh2u-AFgEAQYByABEgI02vD_BwE#fo_c=1356&fo_k=c6edeee360356be0ee18d55ede5b97eb&fo_s=gplauk&dtm_source=GOOGLE&dtm_channel=PPC&dtm_campaign=FatFace-UK-PLA-All-Eng-All-SE-Google+Shopping-Low+Priority-ROAS+Above+Target&dtm_content=Clothing+-+Womens

Hoppinggreen · 19/06/2019 10:20

I looked awful in the Hush ones but the Hush Amy joggers are great and I’ve got them in 2 colours ( I’m not tall or slim)

soulrunner · 19/06/2019 10:22

I look ok in Hush ones but Dharma bums ones are premier league. Can be dressed up pretty well.

Shesontome · 19/06/2019 10:38

These are the harem jumpsuits everyone was going in about last year.

I bought them strictly for about the house, I was adamant I’d never go out in them but they were so comfortable in the heat that I soon relaxed that rule. I’ve worn them (amongst other places) on a yacht trip in the Carribean, a trans-America train journey, to the souks in Morocco and many other places and I have had so many compliments (although to be fair I’ve also had some funny looks).

Iamtheworst · 19/06/2019 13:11

Ok I’ve ordered just about every option, apart from the jumpsuits because I have to draw the line somewhere. The real trick is going to be stopping myself wearing them to work if they are as comfy as promised.

Destinesia · 19/06/2019 13:41

They're not harems, but so flattering and comfortable and they keep their shape.

here

I'm quite short and they're mid calf on me.

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 19/06/2019 13:47

I have why eBay harem pants and they’re ok but not amazing- I’m fat and short bytnneed easy pull on pants currently as broken shoulder
The Next tapered joggers aren’t so bad. A little short on me- I got petite and am 5’2. I’d get another pair as they feel nice and wash nicely. Maybe patterned time. I’m about to post about tops shortly as I can only do button through currently and struggling to find anything nice - has to be online of course
