Hello! Has anyone used this? I've seen rave reviews online and from my friends. Is it any good? I've bought factor 50 face and factor 30 body. I'm hoping so as has cost over £50!

We've used it for years - me, dh and dd. They've changed the product a little in recent years as it no longer appears to stain, though it was never as bad as P20.

Never had any issues using it; its worked well in all sorts of climates and temperatures. No burning.

WrongKindOfFace · 18/06/2019 20:22

Yes, I’ve use it. Works well, is good for sensitive skin etc. Downside is that it can make my face a bit spotty, but that could well be down to laziness with skincare on holiday.

Expressedways · 18/06/2019 20:28

It’s hands down the best sunscreen I’ve ever used. So much so that I stock up when I’m in the UK as it isn’t sold where I live (except online at vastly inflated prices).

Yes, it's great. Rubs in easily, no staining of clothes. No allergic reaction that I have had with other brands. Very effective.

EnchentButteler · 19/06/2019 20:24

Absolutely fantastic. The only sun cream my whole family can use. THAT is priceless!

Plentyofpies · 19/06/2019 20:27

It is excellent. They stocked it in TK Maxx recently too.

Thinkinghappythoughts · 19/06/2019 20:30

What is so great about it? Is it one of those one-application all-day protection suncream?

user1471453601 · 19/06/2019 20:35

Another one who would whole heartedly recommend this sun cream. I have v v sensitive skin and I get prickly heat at the drop of a hat. but this sun cream is the only one i use

HermioneWeasley · 19/06/2019 20:38

Yes, it’s excellent

EnchentButteler · 19/06/2019 20:39

@Thinkinghappythoughts yes although I always reapply at lunchtime. It's great for preventing prickly heat or exacerbating eczema. It goes on easily. Rubs in quickly (SPF 30) and lasts the school day.

whiteroseredrose · 19/06/2019 20:42

It worked for us. I used to put it on the DC early am and it was done for the day.

butterry · 19/06/2019 20:49

Yes, we have used Ultrasun for years with no complaints. The shelf life is 2 years once opened which is handy and we buy the bigger family sized bottles. We do apply more than once a day though because of sweat, swimming etc.

Gannetseatfish · 19/06/2019 23:19

Just for a different perspective I really don’t like it. I’m pale so use spf50 but find it leaves a ghastly (or rather ghostly!) white cast on my face and makes me look like the undead. Also find the formulation thick and claggy so doesn’t absorb well. Hence the above I suppose. I only use it on the children now!

clucky3 · 19/06/2019 23:22

I agree re the white cast. It also stings my eyes

ExpletiveDelighted · 19/06/2019 23:30

I use the face one most of the year and love it, it gives a lovely matte finish on my face, no ghosting, no pilling, no spots.

Weathergirl1 · 20/06/2019 11:45

We got it to wear when we're wearing nice clothes (as opposed to sports kit) after my DH ruined several shirt collars with Amber Solaire and Soltan! No staining issues since thankfully 👍. Still use cheaper Soltan for outdoor sports but now use Ultrasun for everything else.

I like the face cream as it doesn't leave my skin greasy like normal sunblocks do (got it as a free sample when I bought the large tune at M&S otherwise I wouldn't have thought to try it). I'm very pale and don't have any issues with white casts that others have mentioned (but perhaps because that's my normal pallor!).

Satsuma1234 · 20/06/2019 19:51

We use it all the time. Keep an eye on qvc for good deals.

Maraki · 20/06/2019 21:32

Fantastic product. I have milky white, burns instantly, very sensitive, and I am allergic to loads of products. Ultrasun 30 pump bottle doesn’t sting, doesn’t smell of anything (I hate suncream smell), I apply in the morning before I put my swimming costume on and once more after swimming and toweling dry. I spend all day in the sun and I have never burnt or gone pink. One pump bottle lasts a family of three one week.
It leaves a tiny slight white cast. This is because it contains physical sunscreens which reflect uv light and no chemical sunscreens which absorb uv light (and are linked to cancer).
I have tried the family spf 50 and found that it doesn’t offer more protection compared to family sensitive spf 30, but the spf50 is thicker and harder to apply.

Deathraystare · 21/06/2019 14:09

I used it in Crete - the sun was HOT and I did not burn. Also, I did not sweat the stuff off. I did not need to reapply after I was in the pool (not swimming but chatting!) so that was good. I never used to know that there was waterproof sweatproof sun care stuff - I used another when I was in Egypt and sweated it off!!
