Bridesmaid dress help please

I bought my niece a bridesmaid/flower girl dress and when she tried it on, she doesn't like the waist - see purple dress in pics. It turns out that she doesn't like dresses with a proper waist/bodice attached to skirt but I didn't know that.

I need a dress like this pink one or similar shape, or empire line or a shift dress which is nice enough to be a bm/fg dress in the attached colours.

I found a nice white on in H&M but it's quite plain. I found one in M&S in lilac with sequins but its a bit expensive at this stage. It needs to be as cheap as possible unfortunately - I'm talking preferably no more than 20 quid - we have about 3 weeks to go and the budget is blown.

Does anyone know where I can get a suitable dress please?

Anyone nifty with a needle and thread could sew some satin or other very smooth wide ribbon inside the original dress to cover the seam so it won't feel so obvious to the bridesmaid.

And put a vest under it and cut away any parts of the vest that could be visible on the day.

@ Hellsbells99 that one from H&M is perfect but not in her size.

This is what I'm going to do and let her get changed right after the photos.

How about this? £10 over budget but maybe her mum could help out?

That's great @Eliza9919, I hope it helps and that you all have a fabulous day Flowers

Eliza9919 · 18/06/2019 15:15

@SophiaLarsen That's the one I was talking about upthread, from M&S.

I'm probably going to get this one as a back up though in case she won't wear the one I got.

Thank you @ BlankTimes

@Eliza9919, please look at that M&S dress carefully, the gold ribbon could be 'scratchy' on the inside of her bare arms as it tends to lie well below the sleeves.

Fingers crossed the gold ribbon is nice and smooth, not a rough texture, otherwise it's more satin ribbon over that too.
Maybe also get a small bolero? Smile

Nyancat · 18/06/2019 16:28

I can't seem to link to them but if you search for monsoon Estella on eBay there are a couple ages 5-6 for around about £10

They are about £50 new on monsoon website.

Eliza9919 · 18/06/2019 16:40

Thank you @BlankTimes, thats a good point. I'll get a back up in primark and be done with it.

@Nyancat That Estella dress would be perfect thank you but I can't take the stress of auctions at the moment and the buy it now ones aren't the right size.
