Hair colour help

I naturally have mid brown hair & had a full head of blonde highlights.

My issue is that my hair looks inconsistent: sometimes it just looks brunette or brassy, but other times I look quite blonde/ashy. Purple shampoo/conditioner helps - I use Kerastase’s Blonde Absolut range but it is very drying on my damaged hair so I can’t use it often. Without using it, I don’t really like my hair.

I want to go lighter to be more blonde/less warm without faffing about with purple shampoo, but my colourist was worried about breakage so told me not to get anymore highlights. My hair is damaged but I just don’t really like my current colour, so I’m not sure what to do?

  • any tips on making my hair look more presentable?
  • would it be such a bad idea to get more highlights on damaged hair? it has been 2 months since the last lightening session
  • any recommendations for non drying purple shampoo/conditioner?

Thanks
