Everyday trainers for the large of foot

I live overseas in a hot country and returning for an extended trip to the UK over the summer. I live in flip flops at the moment but I need to buy some trainers for my trip - on the assumption I will need comfortable closed toe shoes some of the time! I have UK size 9 feet. I can order from anywhere in the world for delivery, or within the UK to collect on my arrival. I wondered if anyone has a recommendation for a brand/type of trainer that won’t look too boat-like and would be a good neutral all-rounder to wear with everything. I’d be wearing them with a range of summer dresses, slim fitted trousers, leggings etc.
Not keen on all white or all black trainers. Probably something beige/grey/tan would be good. But open to all suggestions. Thanks!

Size 9 here too - I'm a bit of an Adidas devotee, unlike you I prefer a white trainer (despite my mum always telling me to avoid white shoes because of my big feet!) but there's an excellent range of styles in a 9. Converse also great for the summer, classic Chuck Taylor All Stars come in loads of colours.

On the high street, Next are a godsend and I find I can often (but not always) fit a size 8 trainer in M&S. my two favourite pairs are from there in fact.

As to styles - if you're not keen on white, anything neutral like grey, tan, leopard print would be pretty versatile. I'd avoid the really chunky 'dad-style' trainers; slip-on skater shoes might be an alternative? Tend to look quite neat on.

what about Toms? they are so comfy, closed and I find them really flattering on my size 8's. OK if you are not needing something super formal for your summer trip
