I've just bought this dress for a wedding but need some help with shoes and accessories. Thinking of strappy sandals with stiletto heel but not too high as need to stand around for long periods and dance after a few drinks...Would black, nude or silver work? Matching-ish clutch to shoes. What about jewellery? I know you lot like a challenge. Looking forward to your views.

Gold accessories. The deep v neck would look lovely with a statement necklace, but not a long necklace.

Gold atrappy heeled sandals and a gold clutch.

Lovely dress , keeping a watch on this thread as have a wedding coming up
I’d probably go with silver

Where is this from ?

PregnantOnPurpose · 16/06/2019 19:59

I've changes my mind.

Mustard yellow is a very daring, but perfect colour that compliments this royal blue.

Interesting - gold v silver? Unfortunately I have no gold jewellery at all as tend to go for silver or platinum and don't think I can justify spending too much on necklace when still need to buy shoes and bag.
Dress is from Ted Baker. It also comes a lovely orange/coral but I didn't feel bold enough for that.

Beautiful dress! So elegant.

I have no original style tips, I'm afraid, other than to say I would go with gold accessories, and possibly try to find some lapis lazuli jewellery. You can get some lovely contemporary stuff on Etsy. Mostly just placemarking to find out where it's from!

Tolleshunt · 16/06/2019 20:03

Silver would work, it would just make it very cool, whereas the gold would be warmer and richer. Silver says more space-age to me, whereas the gold references more Ancient Greece/Egypt etc.

palahvah · 16/06/2019 20:07

Yellow is brilliant with cobalt blue.
Coral/orange would also look great.
You could do shoes and earrings/necklace in the colour and a clutch in pony or cow print. Or shoes in the print and bag in animal print.

Some great ideas here thank you! I did wonder about yellow/mustard but again I'm a bit worried I won't be able to carry it off? Any links to suggestions would be much appreciated.

Red or coral/orangey red shoes will look amazing. Went to a wedding last year when another guest wore this combination and looked fantastic

R00tat00tt00t · 16/06/2019 22:05

Okay, what about some of these?...

I mean the bright orange ones from New Look, not black.

I live the first photo, the stappy yellow pair! Gorgeous! Second pair looks like the heel could be unflattering.
Not sure on the colour of the third but that personal preference x

Tolleshunt · 16/06/2019 22:20

Not the navy pair - nor glam enough. Either the first yellow pair (beautiful design), or the orange pair.

BubblesBuddy · 16/06/2019 22:25

It really depends on whether you are wearing a hat. If not I quite like the yellow but if you are, definitely not. I think silver looks cool and is easy to buy. I see TB style it with steeply black sandals but that’s boring. Would you ever wear yellow shoes again? Be honest about that. If yes, yellow is great.

Last year my DD wore a royal blue fitted dress from Karen Millen with a muted orange pill box style hat with black and orange feathers. That was stunning. It was all about the hat and she had orange fabric shoes and a black bag. Not too matchy matchy but these colours worked well with the blue.

katesxo · 16/06/2019 23:20

i had a similar dress for a christmas party last year and wore some rose gold heeled sandals from asos and some rose gold hoop earrings, i found it looked better the simpler it was!

R00tat00tt00t · 17/06/2019 00:24

Grrr, app not letting me upload any more images so will have to add links. I did find these https://www.karenmillen.com/gb/womens/footwear/sandals/woven-stiletto-heels/020329.html

But then after you mentioned rose gold Kate I found these and they're an absolute bargain compared with the others https://www.asos.com/glamorous/glamorous-rose-gold-kitten-heel-sandals/prd/11666973

Would they look okay with this bag?
