Hi all, love lurking in S&B so taking the plunge with my own thread!
I would like to get my OH a proper winter coat - he's from a warmer country and really suffers in the winter but refuses to invest in a good one. The one supposedly winter coat he has is at least a decade old and is pretty thin and rubbish imo (not to mention it's now fairly grotty and keeps needing patching). It was very cheap to begin with, from H&M, so isn't warm enough at all!
I have never found winter coats in H&M to be any good (I really feel the cold badly too) so my three winter coats are from: superdry (wear most days in winter), a posh dressy 100% wool one for special occasions, and a proper (expensive!) waterproof/wind proof hill-walking jacket for wind/rain/stormy days that I layer fleeces under.
But where do you buy good-quality men's coats? It would need: hood, decent length, waterproof, warm! Oh and to last for a decade!
Budget is would be up to £250 as really want something good that lasts!
