New single life wardrobe help needed

So I find myself single again in my late 30s and my wardrobe needs updating to cope with all the socialising I'm now doing. What doesn't look like I'm trying to pass myself off as a 20 something in the bars? I want to look great for myself mostly.

I'm tall, with more of a pear shape (though stress is reducing this) and no boobs. My mum tum is drastically reduced but still saggy. I suit blues and greens, black is a bit harsh but can be done. So far I've been in dark grey jeggings and nice top...

I'm going shopping this morning so any inspiration is welcomed!

Never easy when life takes a turn... I would just enjoy wandering around the shops and see what you are drawn to, colours, fabrics and styles.... maybe try on some bits and see what works well or not.
Treat it as a project and you can develop your style... don't buy anything you don't love

Yes to Skippydo - if you don't love it, don't buy it.

Don't second guess, don't think "oh it's a bargain" just don't buy.

Try LOADS of stuff on. This way of thinking saves me a fortune and I end up with clothes I actually wear.

Thanks both. I've given up as the shops seem to be full of neon strings! All I wanted was a nice top...

Don't lose heart.... have you thought about online research or Pinterest for ideas. You could try some online shopping with free returns. Any good department stores near you....chin up... some supermarkets have nice clothes if you have any near you

How about buying a couple of dresses and nice underwear ( only because this is what I need to do, keep buying sports wear) and nice shoes to dress up your jeans ( instead of trainers like me )

Have you got an event or occasion in mind ? Maybe wait until you’re going somewhere it focuses the mind having a deadline
