Do you get your gel nails cut when getting them redone?

My nails have grown so much since I started getting gel nails. I need them redone now and they are quite long. should I get them cut down or just continue to grow them? I quite like them long after having them short for so long.

Do you mean a cured gel polish like OPI or Shellac? if so, I always have mine clipped quite short and filed into a square oval shape. I prefer the feel of shorter nails, it seems to keep them stronger and I think shorter nails look nicer with the dark, dramatic shades I prefer.

It’s 18 days since I had mine done last and although they still look great I find they are now just a tiny bit too long to be comfortable. I want to make some bread but I find the dough gets caught under longer nails (gross) so it will to wait until I can get an appointment.

I keep mine short but they are filed, not cut when I get them re done.

Personally I only file my nails and don't clip them, as getting them clipped can weaken the nail structure.
