What colour is this? Charcoal?

It’s from Fatface and it was in store in white but not this one which is described online as phantom. Having never seen a phantom do any of you know if it’s likely to be black or charcoal. Has anyone actually seen it in a store? It looks charcoal on my screen but I ordered a green top from Esprit which looked a very different shade in real life.

Is faded black classed as charcoal?
That's how it looks to me but very hard to tell onscreen,it seems like one of those items you'd need to see in the flesh .

Thanks Watcher after the green top I ordered looking a very different green in the flesh I’m sure my screen isn’t very accurate here. I’m guessing if it was black it would just say so rather than going for a more cryptic ‘phantom’. I got it in white and love it but don’t want a jet black one. I only saw it in the other colours online or I’d have asked the assistant when I bought it.

I know what you mean ,I definitely don't think it looks jet black on screen but they aren't really committing to a colour by using "phantom" as the colour name. I wonder if online customer service might be able to help ?

I think phantom is a midnight blue. I might be wrong. I hate the colour description because it always leaves me wondering.

Googe isn't straight forward on this. Dulux uses it to describe a grey.

it's definitely always been a dark gray

Aura that’s so kind of you to upload pic of your phantom top. Think I’m going to take a punt and order one in hope I will be more charcoal than jet black.

I have a phantom coloured cardigan from FatFace and it's a very dark grey. Darker than charcoal and a bit of a 'dirty' grey iyswim. Tomorrow I will dig it out and post a photo if you like?

I tried on a coat in phantom. It was a dark purpley grey.

I phoned customer services who have described their phantom as darker than charcoal but not quite black which seems to fit Ellapaellas interpretation. I don’t think I fancy ‘off black’ for midsummer though.
