Got a summer wedding to go to and cant decide between these 2 dresses. Have different shies/sandals I could wear and plan to buy bag/earrings etc (and pants that dont show through!). Thanks for your help.

I think it depends a bit on the type venue to be honest OP? I do prefer the red but it's more casual. Both are nice though, so I'd go with whatever you feel best in, or whichever suited the weather on the day etc.

Happyspud · 13/06/2019 09:51

Red one. Other looks a bit old fashioned/middle aged.

JustHavinABreak · 13/06/2019 09:55

I prefer the darker dress. I feel bad saying this but you look too young for the red one which seems a bit "mumsy" to me. Unless you plan on standing with one leg strategically placed all day to show it has a fabulous split then it comes across as a bit meh. Sorry Confused The first dress however is really classy and with the right accessories is absolute wedding guest material.

pisspawpatrol · 13/06/2019 09:58

Definitely red

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 13/06/2019 10:00

Red! With a big hat!

GooodMythicalMorning · 13/06/2019 10:02

Red one is amazing

MrsBertBibby · 13/06/2019 10:11

Christ alive, are we really "mumsy" if we're not flashing the flesh?

If that red frock is "mumsy" then count me in!

fancynancyclancy · 13/06/2019 10:21

The red dress is not mumsy at all.

LoafofSellotape · 13/06/2019 10:24

I prefer the dark one, really classy.

CmdrCressidaDuck · 13/06/2019 10:29

The red dress isn't mumsy; high-necked midis are 100% where it's at for the young and hot right now.

LenizarLyublyu · 13/06/2019 10:33

The red one is way more summery :)

Fatkins · 13/06/2019 10:34

Ah yeah, anything with a whiff of elegance is totes mumsy of course Hmm.

I think you should go with this instead - pure white AND revealing; double the attention seeking power 😂😂😂.

The red dress is really elegant and not at all mumsy imo. I've seen some really elegant young women in similar things lately. It's classy, not mumsy at all Smile.

JosephineHass · 13/06/2019 10:39

The red one. And I would pair it with some lovely black fascinator.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 13/06/2019 10:41

First one

SrSteveOskowski · 13/06/2019 10:48

100% the red.

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 10:53

Both are really lovely but I think the red one just wins!

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 10:54

Oh apparently I’m now mumsy 😂 still love the red though

Bluebluered · 13/06/2019 10:57

I like the style of the blue one, but I don’t like the style of the red one. If the red one could’ve been shaped like the blue one? The blue one looks amazing on you.

LoafofSellotape · 13/06/2019 11:38

Blue?Confused The fist pic is taupe/brown,isn't it?

Starryskiesinthesky · 13/06/2019 11:56

Forgot all about putting this on before I went to work. Thanks for all your comments! Some made me laugh - especially those about my lovely black hats!

The first dress is actually a purple colour but the picture mustnt show it very well. It is from Hobbs and is quite plain but I do like it and thought a bright handbag and jewellery might help.

The red one is from Oliver Bonas and I do like the split but may have to stand like Angelina Jolie to make it show! Shoes are from Dune 2 years ago.

I am 54 so being mumsy isnt too bad! I wont be flashing much flesh no matter what!!

The first pic

mummyhaschangedhername · 13/06/2019 12:00

Red!

Bluebluered · 13/06/2019 12:13

Oh if it’s purple it would be easy to jazz up. I’d go with the first one.

SrSteveOskowski · 13/06/2019 12:25

54? I thought you were late 20s/early 30s! Shock

MrsBertBibby · 13/06/2019 12:28

Yep. Far too young for the red one Grin
