Shampoo that doesn't cause facial spots

My skin is prone to acne / spots on my face, shoulders and back. I've had great success replacing shower gel with bar soap and using Lush bar shampoo with their bottled conditioner, which is silicone free. This has practically eliminated spots from my back and shoulders, which used to sometimes look almost like a rash and be itchy but with little white heads on inflamed spots.

However, I still get tiny little bumpy spots ( no whiteheads) under my skin that can be itchy on my cheeks / hairline and around the bottom of my ears. I think it might be related to my hair as this is where my hair touches my skin. My skin on my face is now clear everywhere else except for these areas.

Has anyone else had similar and can recommend a shampoo / conditioner that cleared it up? Thanks!

After you wash and condition your hair, could you wash around the hairline with the bar soap? I always take care to wash the conditioner from my shoulders and neck.

Head and shoulders

I use head and shoulders or any cheap anti dandruff shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione. I use it to wash my face chest and back when in the shower. Just make sure to moisturise as soon as you get out of the shower as it can dry your skin out. But this has completely cleared up my acne

Do you use any kind of facial cleanser? I used to get awful spots under my fringe (which I’m growing out) but have started cleaning my face twice a day with witch hazel with a few drops of tea tree oil in and the spots have almost all cleared up

I used to get itchy red spots/lumps from shampoo. Turns out it was the SLS, switched to SLS free shampoo and problem solved. Once used DH’s head and shoulders as was in his shower and had forgotten to get my shampoo out of mine. Awful itchy rash came back, won’t forget again!

Might be worth washing your hair first then your body 2nd to remove any product residue. Your skin seems quite sensitive, shampoo and conditioner are fine for me so I don’t have any recommendations, however the Superdrug spot clearing body spray really good for chest & back acne

Also what’s your skincare routine like? If I had acne I would look at replacing my skincare products rather than shower products

Thanks all. I use Avene tolerance products which really suit my skin and I don't get any spots now except for the bumps under the skin around my hairline, which I'm pretty sure is related to shampoo / conditioner as I have reacted badly to them in the past.

I already wash and conditioner my hair first and then wash my body with bar soap but maybe need to make extra sure I wash any residue off my face as well.

Head and shoulders sounds interesting but also worried about @dun1urkin's reaction to it as sounds similar to how I have reacted in the past.

Lush shampoo bars do have SLS in them. Are there any shampoo bars that don't?
