Wedding guest dress

Sorry for another post on this wedding but I never get a night out and want to have the outfit just right....I had picked a flowery dress from Shein but having read all the reviews I decided not to take the risk ordering, long delivery times and poor quality items being my main concern. So I've chosen this dress from Quiz instead, a bargain in the sale and I've ordered a couple of sizes to try.

Do you think nude shoes are the best option? Or maybe silver? I think black might be too harsh. Bag to match the shoes?

Should I keep the neckline clear and just wear long earrings? Watch and maybe a bracelet?

I'm a size 12 and could probably benefit from a bit of control shapewear, should I look for a pair of shorts that pull up to under the bust? I'm guessing no bra or strapless but will have to see when I try it on. Would prefer a bra but will need to see the shape when I try it on...

Thanks for all your ideas and pointers, I'm ridiculously excited at the first night away with my DH without the kids in 7 years. He will be wearing his kilt and Argyll jacket so I'm not worried about being too dressed up as he'll look so smart (presuming it still fits 🤣)

I would keep the neckline simple, as you say, with earrings. Maybe dark metallic shoes.

I love the dress and would team it with nude shoes and glam earrings.

Size 10-12 here with a bit of belly flab so I would have to wear a corset and strapless bra to feel good in this type of dress.

I'm thinking nude shoes but not sure a nude bag would look right against the dress, might try match a green bag.

I have two months to lose a bit of weight (managed 1/2 stone in the last three weeks, so need to keep that up) but control underwear will definitely feature and I need to find a bra that I can wear with it. Especially as there will be ceilidh dancing involved 😂

Love the dress. Not shoes though. Black wont be too harsh, the dress has a tiny bit of black on. Black strappy sandals like the nude in your pic. I wore black sandals with a navy dress, which unexpectedly looked better than the nude I wanted to wear. I think silver diamante earrings, with watch and silver bracelet or bangle? Enjoy your night away x

Hmm, black could work (and plenty black bags to match...) any of these?

Middle one (I know its nearly the same as the nude) but thats just me I like my heels covered

Gold strappy sandals? A pale gold, not yellow gold...

I think I'm too cool coloured to wear gold, all my jewellery is silver, but it would look great on a warm toned person.

OP, I'm being nosy - what have you decided to wear?

Going for black shoes (middle ones above), black clutch, emeraldand diamante earrings (costume) and silver watch I think. Just waiting on dress to arrive to make sure it fits then I can order the other bits. Not sure about a jacket/shrug yet x

Oh and plenty control underwear 🤣
