Too Bridesmaidy?

I wore this dress as a bridesmaid a few years ago, and now I finally have somewhere posh enough to possibly wear it again- fancy party at a private club type thing. Anyway, I'm now wondering if it actually is too bridesmaidy? Any tips on how to accessorise it?

I never go anywhere posh so am feeling rather anxious to get it right!

Wow its lovely!! I don't think its too bridesmaidy at all. Keep the accessories simple as it's a lovely bold colour. Hair up and a clutch bag. Perfect!

LittleAndOften · 12/06/2019 17:24

It doesn't say bridesmaid to me, it says vintage glamour. A gold bag would go beautifully.

That is gorgeous. Not bridesmaidy. Quite Hollywood glam.

It's lovely, and definitely not too bridemaidy! Could to try for a 1940's theme with hair makeup? Maybe pearls?

PrincessGinderella · 12/06/2019 18:05

Wow stunning dress! I would absolutely not think bridesmaid.

Zoeputthatdown · 12/06/2019 18:09

No this will look very smart, and I wouldn't see it and think 'Bridesmaid'.

AskMeHow · 12/06/2019 18:22

That's beautiful! And not at all bridesmaidy.

tribpot · 12/06/2019 18:25

Definitely not bridesmaidy, and a real shame not to wear it again.

The dress is beautiful, very stylish and graceful, i love it! 💕

It's lovely! Beautiful colour too!!
I would accessorise with a bold colour, either gold as @littleandoften said, or something bright that stands out against the green, like a pink.
Hair and makeup, another for the old Hollywood glamour.

You'll look amazing!!!

It's gorgeous. Not bridesmaidy at all.

To make it more modern you could think about shortening it (midi or even knee-length) A midi can make those ruffles sing around your calves. And change the neckline (say a sober V or a sweetheart )

You could then have loads of fun with accessories (glam heels, statement jewellery etc) The gown length while gorgeous is more awards-ceremony chic. Find thee a good seamstress (or the male equivalent) Grin

Oh that's fab, thank you all for the encouragement and advice. Can't wait to get it out of the loft now! :) x
