Everyday handbag recommendations

I'm not really a handbag person, I tend to just put things I need to take with me into coat pockets but as it's getting to summer and hopefully nicer weather! I was looking for a casual everyday bag I can take out with me when I don't have a coat.

I tend to wear jeans with t-shirts and trainers mostly so don't want anything that looks too dressy. Only needs to be small, just to fit in card/money, phone, lip balm, medication. Budget up to about £100.

Any recommendations please? I haven't got a clue where to start looking!

Otherwise what about a compact backpack?

I noticed M&S have some surprisingly nice bags the past couple of years.

My best ever most used bag is a Ralph Lauren tote bought last year, casual but looks good as new, very nice quality.
