Face moisturiser that doesn’t break you out?

Skin has been bad over the years particularly my early twenties but last couple of years has got better, trying to find a decent night time facial moisturiser that doesn’t break me out is giving me a headache though! For a few years I stopped putting moisturiser of a night because of this reason but I want to start taking care of my skin & getting into the routine of using a moisturiser before bed but literally every one I try causes me to breakout into small raised white head spots on my forehead, cheeks or chin.

Does anyone recommend a cream that won’t do this?

Olay whip, also Estée Lauder revitalising supreme light. It has to be the light one as the regular one is way too rich.

Works for me anyway and my skin is really prone to breakouts over night x

Elemis Superfood night cream
Garnier Pure Active moisturisers
Pai
Paula's Choice Clear
Superfacialist Overnight Recovery cream
Vichy Normaderm (just the moisturisers, not the rest of the range)

You could use a salicylic acid product (such as Paula's Choice) before moisturiser too.

Jojoba Oil is a great and completely non comodegenic moisturiser which has worked wonders on my spot prone skin.

Thanks everyone, what’s the sort of price range for these? I don’t want to break the bank.

I read that oil in moisturisers makes spots worse so switched to an oil free one and my skin has noticeably improved using a combination of these two products, both under a fiver from Boots

I think you need to work out which ingredients might be making you break out. I use cosdna website to check ingredients of products. It has taken some work, but I have discovered I'm sensitive to most oils, so mineral oils, seed oils and most definitely castor oil.
I use some Korean moisturiser off eBay. I love the cosrex range.
But the Aldi range is also ok

The neutrogena visibly clear range (mentioned above) is fantastic. I did a lot of research and this gets recommended a lot.

I have eczema, psoriasis and spot prone skin and I heartily recommend avene products. They have some great serums and the moisturisers come in light and rich. The spf20 one didn't suit me but I gave it to dp who loves itGrin
It won't break the bank either - regularly on 3 for 2 or 25% off offers at boots and Lloyds chemists. Also good value on Amazon.

Tinks15 · 11/06/2019 22:11

That’s a point actually, the dermatologist said a few years back for me to stick with oil free moisturisers.
I did try the neutrogena one a few years back I never really got on with it but maybe it’s worth a try again. It’s not that easy to come by oil free moisturisers either.

I second Cosrx products. The oil free moisturiser is great!

Tinks15 · 11/06/2019 22:31

So the Cosrx range? Is that online only?

Anyone used face theory? Came across this after seeing it flash up on my Facebook newsfeed.

Cosrex Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence. It's about £12 from a Korean seller on eBay but lasts for about a year. I also like the cosrex snail mucin moisturiser which is about the same price, goes on after the essence

Stuff from the ordinary!

tigerbear · 12/06/2019 21:07

I’ve only ever seen Cosrx online.

Agree with PP on trying to work out which ingredients are causing your issues.

I get little whitehead type breakouts from silicones (particularly dimethicone), which are bloody everywhere now.

And I get huge angry red lumps seemingly from nowhere from hyaluronic acid and shea butter.

Took a while to work out, but reading ingredients has saved me!
