Earrings and necklace length advice

When wearing a maxi dress with a fairly low V neckline (I'm not very well endowed, should that make a difference) and your hair up, would you wear long earrings and a short necklace or vice versa?

I would wear statement earrings and no necklace

PencilSkirt · 10/06/2019 20:02

Thanks. You wouldn't wear even a simple chain?

If it’s a long v, I might be tempted to wear a lariat style necklace that hangs in the gap, and very small stud type earrings. But if long earrings, no necklace.

DramaAlpaca · 10/06/2019 20:17

I'd wear long, fabulous earrings but no necklace.

For a current look, I'd favour earrings over necklaces too, unless you have to wear specs, in which case, I'd choose necklace first, maybe with tiny earrings.

PencilSkirt · 10/06/2019 20:29

Thanks for the advice, I'll go with the consensus of long earrings and no necklace. I think I've always viewed a necklace as integral to 'dressing up' but can see how it might look more effective without one in this instance.

XingMing That throws a spanner in the works! This is for a full day wedding and if it's overcast I'll wear contacts but as we'll be outside a lot I may need to wear sunglasses and glasses as I'm not going to fiddle with contacts during the day. Do you think long earings would look odd with them?

Sunglasses work fine. For some reason optical specs seem too cluttered on my face with big earrings, but I have small features, easily overwhelmed.

wiltingflower · 11/06/2019 15:30

I'd go with lovely statement earrings only too. Sunglasses will be fine with big earrings.

Like a previous poster, my face also looks overwhelmed in glasses and big earrings so I tend to always wear contact lenses. It really depends on what makes you feel comfortable though 😊. Always better to wear what makes you happy.

From what you are saying about fiddling with contact lenses, would you be wearing prescription sunglasses and so can't wear them with contact lenses?

PencilSkirt · 11/06/2019 19:34

wiltingflower I should have clarified, yes, my sunglasses are prescription. The frames of my normal glasses are relatively small and I don't think they overwhelm my features.
