What to do after a bad hair cut?

Had a really disappointing salon visit where the stylist just cut too much hair off and gave me a completely different style than I wanted. It’s annoying as I was very clear about what I wanted and that I was trying to grow it out etc. She cut my fringe super short, it looks silly and it’s hard to disguise

I have been asked to come back to the salon to see what can be done, but to be honest it seems like a pointless trip as I don’t want more hair cut off?

I feel really defensive too because I feel like the salon will try to blame me somehow. Does anyone have experience of complaining to a salon?

Yes I complained I had highlighted blonde hair and I wanted some darker lowlights put through to break it up abit. Wasn't happy with it as the lowlightscwere kind of ginger but didn't say anything. When I got home I decided to phone them and they said to go back in which I did and they did make it alot better....what will you be trying to achieve by going back

Well even if they can't do anything straight away they could give you a voucher for your next visit.
They might also have some advice on styling it in the mean time.

Glad your salon sorted it! I’m not sure what they’d be able to do to mineSad

I have fine hair and normally just keep it one length for extra thickness. I told her I just wanted a slight trim but she has given me lots of short layers and made it look a bit like a mullet, whilst also cutting the hair around my face really short. It genuinely looks shit and really sparse, worse than when I came in!

I have been back to a salon to complain when I realised they had done a terrible job on my layers - they were able to blend them in better which sorted the issue.

Another time I cried at the end of a cut when I realised the hairdresser had taken the liberty to do something she thought would suit me, but that I specifically didn't want (and had said as much, but obviously not clearly enough). They offered for me not to pay at all.

In your situation since you have already complained, I would ask what they think they may be able to do, before you take the time to go back.
