Anyone fancy a 'No Jeans in June' challenge/thread?

I have got a wardrobe full of LOVELY clothes but I always always end up in jeans...
I think it's possibly because I always feel 'too dressed up' in skirts and dresses but anyhoo... am determined to make more of an effort this summer so have decided I'm not going to wear jeans at all for the month of June. Anyone with me?

I couldn't do it every day, but I did wear a dress each day last week. The past two days with tights, due to rain.

WindsweptEgret · 08/06/2019 13:09

Nope, I'm in jeans until it hits 18 degrees!

lilpumpsmum · 08/06/2019 13:13

Trousers count as no jeans! Grin

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 08/06/2019 13:17

I feel the exact same way OP - like I'm "trying too hard" if I wear anything other than jeans!

I'd be prepared to give this a go (starting tomorrow, too late for today!) - might be tricky with all the rain forecast this week though.

Do my denim dungarees count as jeans or not?

lilpumpsmum · 08/06/2019 13:59

Yay Greebo! Let's do it

I think dungarees get a pass as they're a bit more 'outfitty ' IYSWIM

Shitpark

Tights are definitely going to come in handy, will stock up as I think I only have one pair!

I only own jeans and black interview trousers. I would love to wear my summer shorts but it's just not warm enough!

Cantthinkofausername1990 · 08/06/2019 14:26

Yep I have actually done this so far for June!
Unfortunately I'm not wearing pretty dresses, skirts and trousers though. My baby is due on the 14th and I've just had enough of wearing jeans (which i always wear) and have been in leggings for the last week!
But after baby is born I think I'l definitely try and stay out of the jeans a bit more Smile

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 08/06/2019 15:18

Alright @lilpumpsmum, I'll check back in tomorrow with my outfit for the day. It'll probably involve leggings though, as I'm rehearsing all day so need something I can move in.

wiltingflower · 08/06/2019 15:54

I love this idea!

I find it hard to pick out outfits for 'leisure but not at home' iyswim, I find getting dressed for work easy and I always wear skirts or dresses there.

TipseyTorvey · 08/06/2019 16:13

OMG this is a brilliant idea. I have two wardrobes FULL of nice things then ever non work day I pull on jeans, vest cardi... I feel the same as you OP that somehow I'm over dressed if I wear anything else. Or strangely vulnerable like I'm going to need to sprint somewhere and roll on the ground so I'd better be dressed for that instead of just normal life. Please say I can count other colour jeans though? I have a plum pair I never wear that I need to include.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 08/06/2019 16:18

Oh yeah, I have a lilac pair!

LazyDoll · 08/06/2019 17:00

I’m IN! Have unconsciously been doing this already but great motivation to continue. Chucking it down today and I’m full of cold so Hush joggers on...

LazyDoll · 08/06/2019 17:01

Subconsciously? As I said...full of cold ConfusedGrin

zippyswife · 08/06/2019 21:00

I did this all last summer as the weather was so good. I’m in.

lilpumpsmum · 08/06/2019 21:28

Perfect!

I have some pink (nicer than they sound) and red jeans that might also get a pass.

It's just so easy to shove on a pair of blue jeans with a T shirt/vest top.

Today I was considering wearing some silky cargo style trousers with a white bodysuit too. But I panicked "oh but then the bodysuit will need to be washed and I might need it for something else...."
have to come out of this frame of mind.

When I was younger I experienced some harassment when I was alone and I feel like that has led me to dress down as a rule. But now I'm coming up for middle aged and feel more averagely invisible Grin so feel a bit more confident to dress up a bit more.

Isthebigwomanhere · 08/06/2019 21:34

I'm in starting Monday

JaceLancs · 08/06/2019 21:37

I’m in - but am going on holiday tomorrow n will be too hot for jeans!

mycatisblack · 08/06/2019 21:46

Not much point me joining in as I haven't worn jeans in years. Too uncomfortable.
I wear loose trousers all the time though as they're easy to make.

Maybe I could try to wear jeans occasionally instead? Wink

lilpumpsmum · 08/06/2019 21:51

Ahhh Jace please tell me you're going somewhere fabulously sunny!!

OP posts:
Musicforsnorks · 09/06/2019 11:50

I bought a few new lovely summer dresses whilst in Lake District early April. Proper peed off now as I haven’t been able to wear them since. I was floating around Windermere in my sandals, sunnies, etc, but been stuck in jeans ever since.

Everyone saying we will have a bad summer since the last one was so good.
This logic depresses me.

Musicforsnorks · 09/06/2019 11:52

Sorry, early May, not April.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 09/06/2019 14:23

Today's outfit is black leggings, a black vest top, black converse and a purple silk shirt dress over the top. Bit of a cheat, as leggings aren't exactly dressy, but as I mentioned I needed something I can move in. And I'm pleased about the dress - I've recently lost a stone on Low Carb Bootcamp a d it's the first time in years it's buttoned up. Grin

lilpumpsmum · 09/06/2019 14:52

Greebo that sounds fab, and congrats on the stone loss! 👏🏼👏🏼

I'm not in jeans today, mainly because I'm in my dressing gown having a lazy Sunday binge watching Killing Eve Grin.

lilpumpsmum · 09/06/2019 14:53

Nooooo Music I refuse to believe it's going to be a washout this summer. Refuse refuse.

Tho I live in Wales and it usually rains every day, even on the sunniest days anyway Grin
