Eyeliner for saggy hooded eyelids

I am in a bit of despair right now. I have used Avon Glimmerstick eyeliner for years. I use eyeliner for my top eyelid, usually the darker brown colour. For some or other reason they have decided to discontinue that colour sigh. The lighter brown is just too light and makes me look way older I think. So i have now tried to replace this eyeliner with a Revlon, Essence, Maybelinne, and plenty others, but they don't stay in place.

As my eye is hooded the skin on top touches the eyeliner and moves it up my eye, so an hour after putting it on I have this bloody awful line of eyeliner way up on my eyelid. I just cant seem to find one that wont transfer like Glimmerstick.

I have tried putting powder over and everything i can think of. Eye primer does nothing either.

I don;t like the liquid liner is its a bit heavy so makes my eye droop more. Any ideas what other brand I can try that will bloody stay where i put it.

Many thanks,

Racoon.

I have hooded eyelids OP and as I've got older, I've had to alter my eyeliner style completely.

The darker line on the top lid won't work any more for the reasons you gave.

One way of avoiding it is to only apply it to the outer edge and just a little...taper it so there's TINY upwards "kick" at the outer edge. I'm not talking cat's eye style...just barely noticable and it opens your eye a lot.

I don't use eyeliner but a matte eyeshadow on a fine brush. Eyeliner is too harsh.

Thanks Henny, I will try that. I didn;t have the problem with the Glimmerstick, but perhaps the line is a little harsh now for my eyes. Do you wet the brush for the shadow?

I agree with Henny and moved to tightlining only on my upper lashes now, but there’s loads of Avon glimmersticks on Amazon - not sure specifically which brown shade you want but might be worth looking on there - if you haven’t already Smile

Try a pencil with false lashes. I have always had crepey lids even when I was young and found the pencil / false lash combination went a long way to make me look more awake. You don’t need many - often just two or three strategy placed lashes can make a huge difference.

I used the Mac liquid one. It's called something like liquid last. It really doesn't shift.

Thanks Sallie. I don't live in the UK and they have discontinued the Barnacle Brown here, only have cosmic brown which is very light. I cannot fathom why they have done that. Whilst I am on the subject, I cannot find brown mascara anywhere anymore either. Sigh again.
