Phillip's Lumea Laser Hair Removal

I want to invest in a Phillip's Lumea after reading people raving about them on here. However, there are a few different models with massive price differences.Reading about them I can't seem to see many differences to justify the big price difference and was wondering if I can get away with a cheaper model.

Also, can you do your upper lip as they seem so big I can't see how it would be possible?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks.

Find my previous thread from a few months back for lots of info. I love mine and yes, massive success on top lip, just takes a bit of angling and puffing out your lip to get it all zapped!

Oh yes me too. It's a lot of money but I am really interested

I bought the essentials one for £139 from Boots. Same price as Amazon but I wanted the Boots points.

I’ve done my legs three times and saw a difference after the second time.

I’ve not tried it on my face but I can do my toes with it after a bit of faffing so I’m pretty sure you’d be able to do your lip as it’s more malleable than a toe.

Thanks @Desmondo2016 read your thread and just bought the Prestige from Amazon for £325. Feel a bit sick spending that much money on myself but cant wait to use it.

My rules of thumb...

Don't expect miracles straight away- persevere.

Use it on setting 5 regardless lol (the strongest)

Shave about 24 hours before use

Do your legs as a session on their own as they are more tedious and time consuming. I do bikini, pits, face and arms one day (about 30 mins max) and then legs the next. I usually i did this every 10-14 days for about 2 months now it's about 3-4 weeks for maintenance. Massive success on legs face, pits, arms and front bit of bikini. Taking a bit longer to do the bikini under carriage (sorry Wink) as it's quite ouchy down there so I'm probably not zapping quite as ferociously!

Also, I didn't shave facial hair before use, just my normal hair removal there (plucking and a threading twizzler tool thingy)

I also ordered one on amazon. Felt sick when it didn't arrive! Amazon were great and sent another but then had kittens when they said I'd be charged again as I hadn't returned original. A glitch in the system which they sorted but it was all quite stressful!

A few months on and I'm really pleased with the results!

I've got the cheapest one (£140 from Boots). I'm probably 6 weeks in (although I'm behind on my legs). Hair on arms and armpits has pretty much gone. Upper lip (which it fits on fine) gone and chin is getting there but is definitely being a bit stubborn.

Phillips have a 100 day guarantee on it, so you can try it and send it back if you don't get on with it Smile

I have upper lip hair that is blonde (or would be if I let it grow!) Would it still work, or does the hair have to be darker?

Have been having a sneaky look - seems to be the Lumea Prestige 1953 which is the current model - there is also a 1954 on the Philips website but can't work out the difference. They are the same price. Anyone?

Also, is the £325 price an unusual price drop or is that the usual price now? Am tempted but it's so ££££! But would hate to miss a bargain if it's that good and it's likely to go back up to £475!

DropZoneOne · 06/06/2019 19:19

fatfreegreek i think the difference is just the colour

It was £389 a month ago, but i signed up to Philips to get 15% off, so paid £330
