hellenbackagen · 05/06/2019 09:58

Hi
I wonder what others so size wise for Birkenstock's- I measured using the guide and I'm normally a
Size 4 or European 37 and that's what I ordered but they seem big?

I'm not sure whether I should have gone down a size ?

What do seasoned Birkenstock's wearers do please? This may I mean sending them back ... ordered from their website

I had the opposite problem, ordered my usual size 41 but they seem small. A different style ordered in that size was fine. I'll be buying them from a shop in future so I can try them on
Sorry, not helpful I know! Blush

I usually go down a size with Birkenstocks, as does my DD. Neither of us have any trouble across the different styles we bought.

iamthebest65 · 05/06/2019 10:27

Hi, I usually go down a size, as well.

YessicaHaircut · 05/06/2019 10:30

Yes, I have to size down too. I’m a 5 in work type shoes and a 6 in trainers, but always go for a 37 in Birkenstocks which is a 4 I believe.

daisypond · 05/06/2019 10:33

I’m go down a size and put an extra hole in the strap to make tighter.

chasingseagulls · 05/06/2019 10:34

Down a size for normal width, normal size for the narrow width.

Unburnished · 05/06/2019 10:35

Yes, I go down a size and have to tighten the straps onto the tightest hole otherwise they fall off.

Danglingmod · 05/06/2019 10:38

You're not supposed to go down a size - your toes and heels aren't supposed to touch the edges. However, if they're too loose on the tightest hole, you might need narrow fitting.

I'm a 5.5 in lace up shoes, heels and trainers but actually wear a 39 (6) in Birkenstocks (narrow).

Magmatic80 · 05/06/2019 10:38

Yep, down a size for me too. The fitting person advised it from the off

Notonaschoolnight · 05/06/2019 10:49

I’m generally a 40 i own 39 Madrid’s for years but when my feet are hot and swell my toes go right to the top which I know isn’t right so last week I got 40 Arizona but they do feel too big but I think that’s partly just getting used to them but what is a problem is the second strap is too loose on the tightest hole I think in hindsight I should have gone to an actual shop as I’m wondering if a 40 narrow would have been better

hellenbackagen · 05/06/2019 11:08

Bugger wish I'd known! Now the hassle of queues in the lost
Office and an exchange. I've looked on line says to open all straps and place foot in and should fit snugly. Mines too big by a mile Could maybe get away with it on tightest strap hole but I'd rather a good fit .

I'm the same size as normal. They are quite a wide shoe though, and if you have narrow feet you might do better with the narrow fit.

JaneR0chester · 05/06/2019 11:15

I'm a size 4/37 and have one style of Birkenstocks in a size 37 that fits perfectly (Maya? I think.)

And I've just returned a pair of size 37 Arizona because they were too small... Best to try on each style and size in future.

PazRaz10 · 05/06/2019 11:17

Yep, I've had loads of pairs of Birkos and I am always a size smaller.

Rooftree · 05/06/2019 11:36

I wear my size or a size larger as I can’t beat my toes touching the raised front edge. They do look
Bigger on my feet than other people I know who have them but it works for me for that reason

Rooftree · 05/06/2019 12:39

I meant I can’t BEAR my toes touching the end

Teddybear45 · 05/06/2019 12:40

They are too wide for me, so I can’t wear them.

Ch3rryTree · 05/06/2019 16:23

I have many pairs and always buy my usual size

UsernameRequiredNow · 05/06/2019 16:48

Ok I went to a shop to try mine on and I bought the size that I always am. However, I realised that really I could have done with half a size smaller...I have a "rogue toe" that is longer than all the others (including my big toe!) and I needed them to be a bit big because of that. My mum got a pair and ordered half a size down and they fit like a glove.

BlueThang · 05/06/2019 16:55

I'm a size 5 feet and I take size 5 birkenstocks. My toes and heels rest exactly in the heel and toe dents.

Onynx · 05/06/2019 17:50

Go down a size in the standard footbed but stay the same in the Soft Footbed ones

goose1964 · 05/06/2019 20:06

I go down a size, actually to my proper size. I normally go up as my feet are wide with a high instep

hellenbackagen · 05/06/2019 23:17

Thanks all I'll try a size down.

I probably could wear the narrow fit but I'll try regular fit at a 36.

They really were way too big when I opened the straps and put my foot in - they felt a bit off kilter too - my foot just wasn't where it should be and only putting the strap on the tightest fit possible kept them on which again the website says is not a good fit.

Trying again! If the 36 is too small I'm giving up!

I ordered mayari.

Now I think about it I'm sure I tried a gizah on and had to size down some Year’s ago but I didn't buy them .
