To perm or not to perm?

After a quick fix for my flat and thin postpartum hair yhat I have no time to style! So tempted to get a gentle perm. Anyone been there and done that?

Be aware! A colleague of mine went for a gentle perm recently & ended up with full on corkscrew curls- luckily they are pretty & suit her but she was in shock initially.
