Fat & Frumpy - help!

So, I'm 8 months post partum. I am FAAAAT - still carrying an extra 3 stone that is slooooowly coming off. Currently living in plain black Adidas leggings, baggy black vest tops and hoodies. Literally, don't wear anything else.

It's my birthday coming up and I'm very lucky in that I will probably get spoiled a bit.

What key pieces can I ask for that will help me look more "polished" and trendy? I've literally lost any stylishness (??) I ever had and fed up of feeling dowdy and gross.

Desperately needing help x

If you are in the process of losing weight, would it be a good idea to hang fire with new wardrobe for now, and treat yourself to hair/nails etc? They will make you feel good, and keep you motivated to lose the rest of the baby weight. Then you can really enjoy a wardrobe overhaul, probably during the new seasons fashions! In the meantime how about some of the looser summer midi/maxi dresses out there, for the warmer weather? Not fitted, so that they dont look the wrong size when you've gone down another size or two. I've got this, which is one size fits all:

There must be other similar ones around, if its the wrong price range. I'm happy to go bra-less but if you're not there will be styles about that dont show bra straps!

What's it for? Work, day to day with baby, nights out?

Age/size are useful to know

Who's style do you like?

Thankyou for replies!

So I'm currently 13stone 8lbs. My ideal weight is 11stone, maybe a little less and I'm 5ft 7.

I just want something to look a little more "together" for every day wear. I spend a lot of time at baby groups and classes and feel I just look a bit scruffy compared to everyone else which isn't me at all and is getting me down.

The problem with waiting until I lose the weight is that I have a long history of doing this, imagining I'm going to be thin and glamorous and what I can wear when I am and then never actually losing the weight and sticking to my Leggings/Hoodie combo.

I love a jumpsuit, usually stick to black, white or grey or denim skinny jeans with flats, a nice top but usually stick to quite plain and classic. I just want to feel more confident at this size.

X

I agree jent85 definitely buy for the size you are now as it'll boast your confidence and make you feel good.
