Double Denim. Yes or No?

I've got a new denim jacket which I love.

Can I wear it with jeans or is double denim still a no-no?

No. Definitely not.

DuchessOfBallybrack · 02/06/2019 21:22

i'm gonna say no as well.

YahBasic · 02/06/2019 23:14

I wear a light blue denim jacket with white/cream jeans and also with tan jeans, but not black or blue.

Pissoffbranthebroken · 02/06/2019 23:27

Depends on your style. If you’re a bit hipster yes, if you’re a bit m&s then no

Everley · 03/06/2019 01:10

I sometimes wear a blue denim jacket with black denim jeans. Try it, if you like it, wear it!

ShanghaiDiva · 03/06/2019 01:13

no - a bit shakin stevens

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2019 01:15

No.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 03/06/2019 01:23

No from me too.

Biancadelrioisback · 03/06/2019 01:24

Yes as long as if definitely doesn't look like youre trying to match so blue jacket with black or white jeans

swissmilk · 03/06/2019 01:25

Yes (but I guess I am more hipster than M&S)

ICantBelieveIDidThis · 03/06/2019 01:55

I have dark jeans, I have worn them with a mid-blue jacket and denim trainers.

I see your double denim and go triple denim

EmpressJewel · 03/06/2019 08:05

I saw a woman last week wearing denim dungarees and a denim shirt and she pulled it off.

I guess it depends on how you finish the look so try experimenting and see how you get on.

DuchessOfBallybrack · 03/06/2019 08:38

I think the bewitched girls look good there, they were doing double with BLACK denim and as a band 'uniform' it looked coherent but very relaxed. Plus they were all very young.

Floisme · 03/06/2019 09:13

I've always had a soft spot for it. I've seen a couple of women wearing an oversized denim jacket with jeans and it looked really good and, for some reason, not 80s although I've not been able to work out why.

NationalAnthem · 03/06/2019 09:17

Dh wears a denim shirt - maybe a bit more chambray than denim with dark blue jeans - I think it looks good but he did get comments but I convinced some people just take a rule and apply it in a pretty unthinking way.

evilharpy · 03/06/2019 10:08

Not unless your name is Britney or Justin and it's 2001.

LimitIsUp · 03/06/2019 13:52

My older teen told me it was 'in' a while ago (might have been a year ago). Maybe it still is?

bebeboeuf · 03/06/2019 13:55

I don’t, but DH and DS do and it suits them (DH is quite alternative)

Zoflorabore · 03/06/2019 13:57

I wouldn't. I didnt even like it in the 90's when i was a teen and could get away with wearing anything Grin

I started a similar thread recently asking the same question and someone told me I would look like Jimmy Corkhill Grin

moonpiggle · 03/06/2019 17:02

Cheesymonster · 03/06/2019 17:26

This is the look I was going for but I don't think I'd pull it off
