Removing gel manicure at home

It’s looking really tatty but I don’t think I’m going to get a chance to get to a salon to get it taken off. Any tips for doing it at home without totally wrecking my nails? Thank you Smile

100% acetone on cotton balls, held on to your fingers with foil. Wait ten mins and then scrape off with an orange stick.

I did this last week by 1) filing gently over each nail (just enough to break the glaze) 2) soaking a small ball of cotton wool soaked with nail varnish remover for each nail and placing on each nail and 3) wrapping foil on top for 10 mins.

The gel then just peeled off.

what the PP have said - but depends on the polish used, some will take longer than ten mins to dissolve. Scrape it off with your thumbnail

It lifts easier still if you hold s warm hairdryer on low volume over the foil wraps.

I did this last week. One hand at a time, it took about 20 mins per hand, but I did it gently as I didn't want to damage my nails. It was fine.
