Longchamp Le Pliage help ?

I have the travel Le Pliage for the Airport but find it quite big, I would like another one for holiday in July but can't decide on colour or size. I'm torn between a shorter handle and long, and I don't want it too big or too small. I also like the new graphic print ones , but am conscious at 45 that these may be a bit young ☺️ if anyone can help ?

If you like the print ones then go for them!
TBF I wouldn't have said any of the Longchamps Le Pliage range are 'a bit young' -- aren't they said to be a favourite of Kate Moss? Grin

And I think she is older than you? Or at least around your age....

fancynancyclancy · 02/06/2019 13:02

I like long straps simply so I can throw them on my shoulder if needed. I would say they are one of the few items that is ageless. see them on 18-80 yr olds.

Tartyflette · 02/06/2019 13:05

Also I like the longer handles, they're not that long and it means you can sling the bag over your shoulder.
The bags themselves are light and I would go for the largest that you can still take as a carry-on. But that's just me, I overpack anyway. ☺️

ElspethFlashman · 02/06/2019 13:08

Definitely long straps. I have a medium and I find it a really good day to day size. Fits all your shite and a book too. However I don't tend to want to stuff scarves/cardigans in as some do. If you're one of those, get the Large.

And I don't think it's a bag that runs "young" so just get the design you like the most.

Long straps definitely. I love them for travelling as they squash nicely under seats etc and are washable . I wouldn’t put any other bag on the floor or ground except these .

DameDoom · 02/06/2019 13:50

Definitely long handle. I have a 2 and have no idea how old they are but they are ancient. There is a pinprick hole in one and the other is perfect despite being treated badly and machine washed many, many times.
The style is so inoffensive that a graphic print would not be too young at all. They might not set the world alight lookswise but they are bloody good bags and the fact they are so foldable and lightweight is fab.
Everyone should have a Pliage even if it's just for lugging potatoes from the greengrocers.

I did t know they went in the washing machine!!

Hand wash setting?

I've got the backpack version. Love it.

If you can't decide between short or long handle then take a look at the Longchamp Neo, it has a short handle and a removable longer strap for carrying cross body or on shoulder.

Same material and basic colours like red, grey, black or navy.

sweettalkingwoman · 02/06/2019 15:01

The medium with the long straps, so it can go on your shoulder. But straps are still short enough to carry it in your hand too.
I love mine and use it everyday. So light and spacious.
Depends on the rest of your wardrobe and budget, I stick to the neutral colours, so I have a creamy beige one and a shiny looking brown one.
But if budget allowed, I would have several colours as they're so light and compact to store Smile

Long handled shopper is the most versatile. I’ve had short handled ones and different sizes but my black shopper is my everyday bag. DD has just got her first in grey as a school bag.
