Saltwaters - help!

Bought some Saltwater sandals (the 'Originals')
They are extremely flat. So very flat. But they fit well on my wide feet which is nothing short of a miracle.
I wore them once for around 5 hours and they were fine, rubbed a little but nothing beyond the norm from new shoes.
I then wore them into the sea and walking around for a few hours as they recommend you do and they 'moulded' to my feet a bit.
However, wore them yesterday all day (just ambling around our local town, and they have shredded the bottom of my feet. Mostly on the underneath of my toes and around the edges of the soles of my feet which leads me to think its the exposed stitching on the sole.
Any ideas on what I can do? They look great (and were ££) so I cant give up on them Grin

I expect you just have to break them in slowly but tbh they look so uncomfortable to me I'm amazed they're so popular!

I'd wait until your feet are healed, then break them in slowly. Is the stitching underneath your toes? Ideally your toes should be behind the stitching.

Ah I love mine, I walk around 20000 steps a day in them!
I’d give your feet chance to heal then wear again.
