Out net
APC

Daddylonglegs1965 · 01/06/2019 20:55

I’m tall plus size early fifties:

Long Tall Sally
Monsoon
Debenhams
Phase Eight
I style things up with accessories from everywhere.
I also make some of my own clothes if I can’t find what I am looking for.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 01/06/2019 20:57

45, go-to's when buying clothes are

Jospeh, always have desirables
Margaret Howell, ditto
Winser London, great knits, some other good bits, excellent quality.
Maxmara, have been on my radar.for years and have always got the odd thing but recently have found we seem to be on the same wavelength, have had some really lovely pieces.
Jigsaw, bit hit and miss, more miss recently. Used to do good basics.
Toast, used to get a fair bit from, have gone a bit Amish, still the odd nice thing, still consistent good quality.
Brora, best cashmere.
Gerard Darel, good, interesting design, well cut, heavy on the synthetics though so have to chose wisely.
Maje, ditto.
Cos, consistent, and if you've found what suits you from there very reliable.
Jcrew, good quality basics, leans towards the preppy.
MeAndEm, I quite, have a few things but again, heavy on the synthetics.

Shop at Net for individual bits.

Shops I used to shop at and no longer do

Whistles, utter shite now, I used to shop there loads but after biying a couple of tops there last year that looked like rags after one wash (I took them back to JL and the woman on the counter agreed with me and refunded) I won't any more. I'm happy to pay lots of money for clothes but £100 on a single-wear item? No thanks.

LK Bennett, quality and design are very poor now.

All Saints, don't rate the quality.

Reiss, as above.

Ellapaella · 01/06/2019 21:01

This year:
Topshop
Warehouse
H&M
Hush
Cos
Tesco
New Look
Gap
ASOS
Primark
Whistles

I'm 40. I also look for more pricey brands that I love such as All Saints on eBay. I'm not so keen on All Saints over last 2 years and prefer the stuff from around 2013-2016 so eBay is perfect for that. Recently also started eyeing up Sezane on eBay as the stuff is beautiful but way out of my price range.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 01/06/2019 21:03

I always forget APC, it used to be a ball-ache to buy things from them, I had a very confusing Franglish conversation online about a skirt once when buying from their website. Net always have a few bits but I always forget to visit their main site when shopping. Must make a mental note as I always love their stuff when I remember to buy it!!

TheWayOfTheWorld · 01/06/2019 21:03

Work: LK Bennett, Reiss, Hobbs, Madderson

Non-work: Ted Baker, Reiss, Sosander, Reiss, Karen Millen, Oasis, Sugarhill Brighton, Whistles, Mint Velvet

DramaRamaLlama · 01/06/2019 21:06

Also but quite a lot from Massimo Dutti

fairweathercyclist · 01/06/2019 21:17

Fatface and Monsoon.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 01/06/2019 21:30

OP's not been back, cheap research?

SingingGoldfinch · 01/06/2019 21:38

Hush, Boden, H&M, Mint Velvet - and the odd bit from Next. I'm always browsing online for clothes!

Tanfastic · 01/06/2019 21:50

Davespecifico · 02/06/2019 00:19

Reiss, Maje, Sandro for tops if there is a very very good sale.
Oasis Cherry jeans. I have about 15 pairs.
Warehouse for T-shirts.
H and M for cheap work clothes
M and S for knickers and socks
Triumph at John Lewis for bras.
White company for jumpers if there is a good sale
Any cashmere anywhere if I can afford it.
Reiss sale if I need a dress (which is rare):as I love in jeans.

insideoutandback · 02/06/2019 08:43

I live in a area lacking in shops so most has to be internet shopping. I have been mainly been shopping at hush and fat face but looking for something different.

OP posts:
The2Ateam · 02/06/2019 09:15

Zara, Karen Mullen, H&M and Primark.

MaudesMum · 02/06/2019 09:29

50-something here.
Seasalt & Fatface for casual
M&S for underwear
Toast (sale), Cos & Uniqlo for work
TK Maxx especially for footwear

EmmaGrundyForPM · 02/06/2019 09:34

For work mostly Next trousers and Zara or H&M tops

Non work stuff is a mixture.
Next Jeans
Mint Velvet
Great Plains
Zara
Kin
Boden - although less than I used to

If we had a Mango where I live I might buy from there.

HoppityChicken · 02/06/2019 09:34

Also in 50s - Zara, Mint Velvet (though less than I used to), Gap, Hush, Jigsaw, Esprit. I love Toast but all their clothes make me look like I've fallen down a hole.

Processedpea · 02/06/2019 09:36

Uniqlo. Most high street shops are seas of polyester
