How do I style this without dreaded double denim?

Got a lovely shirt, not actually denim but the pale blue that looks it, with some embroidery on. Really nice. However I don't want to look like I've escaped from a ranch so how do i style it?

I wear my chambray shirt with jeans in other colours - pale pink or pastel yellow, khaki or white.
Trousers that aren't denim would work too.

But denim on denim is in fashion - just needs to be a coloured jean.

Nowt wrong with double denim.

I basically do blue denim or... darker blue denim. But I shall consider trying more colours if I can find any that fit over my enormous arse.
