Septum Piercing and Work

Anyone have a septum piercing and flips it up for work? I’m loving how delicate and feminine this piercing can look with fine jewellery but my professional office wouldn’t allow it. Has anyone had it pierced and let it heal flipped up?

Yes and yes :-) I'm a Manager in an office where I need it hidden so I just pop it up until after work. I had to change mine to a smaller one though as the one I had it pierced with was slightly bigger and I felt I was constantly messing about with my nose trying to keep it up there!

You can also get clear retainers. e.g. www.jobananas.com/clear-bioplast-septum-retainer-keeper-hider.html Loads on amazon and ebay too.

Thank you! I don’t think I’d bother with the clear retainer only because I’d want to put one piece in and keep it in. Also I couldn’t get pierced with one.

TrueFriends What gauge is yours at? I want something small and quite feminine.

Mine was 1.2, but smaller would have been better I think. Have you found a pierced who will use fine jewellery from the off or will you have to change from the titanium/steel ring they use?

I have a local piercer who I’ve been going to for various ear piercings over the last couple of years so I will ask her about it. I’m hoping she would go with fine from the start. She’s got some really delicate titanium pieces generally.
