I’m getting my nose pierced today and was just wondering if they can pierce it with a sparkly stud and not a plain metal one ?

Suppose it depends on the place you go and what they use.

Thegirlhasnoname · 31/05/2019 08:04

Depends on the place. When I got mine you could have a ring or plain stud for the normal price, or get a fancier one for a bit more money

If it is being pierced with a Labret post with screw on ball you can get replacement balls (sparkly or just a different colour metal) so long as you know what gauge it is. Definitely leave it a couple of weeks before attempting to change the ball though.

Thanks all if it is a Labret piercing can I change it the next day?

No! LITHA!

A decent piercer will have a range of jewellery to choose from. If they don’t have anything in the shop when you go, they can order it in. Let them swap out the top for you, doing it yourself is likely to irritate it.

Lellochip · 31/05/2019 10:55

I'm sure they'll have the option for something sparkly Smile

If they do offer labrets, go with that over a screw, so much more comfortable! I'd still leave it a good while before changing the end though. While you wouldn't have to remove the actual post you don't want to be pulling and twisting at a fresh piercing.

@Katiefuller1206 - please let us know how you get on. I would like to have mine done, but I am such a coward.

Katiefuller1206 · 31/05/2019 15:55

@StarlightLady I got it done and managed to get a sparkly oneSmile it was no where near as painful as I expected!

Great news. Fingers crossed it heals quickly and easily.

StarlightLady · 02/06/2019 08:22

@Katiefuller1206 - Thank you for the update. Would you mind coming back in a little while to let us know about the healing. I am partly put off as l have had 2 attempts with a naval piercing and both times my body rejected it.

Autocorrection · 02/06/2019 08:33

I've had my nose pierced around 8 times. Each time I would catch it and would get one of those lumps. Tried everything to help it but would always end up having to take it out.

I've finally managed to get this one to heal. I only cleaned it once a day and just actively avoided it otherwise.

LolaSmiles · 02/06/2019 08:41

Can I ask how long they take to heal? I've had mine done and even after 6 months it hadn't healed. Then I knocked it out so that was the end of it.

Keepaddingpets · 02/06/2019 08:49

Ooh let's see a photo of it.

TooOldForThisWhoCares · 02/06/2019 17:45

It took mine a flaming YEAR to heal. I'm sure most people would have given up but I persevered. I had to saline bathe it daily.

Just to add with no work rule, you can get the clear retainers for piercings once it's healed. So it's not noticeable but doesn't close up.
