Black going out top???

princessjelly · 30/05/2019 12:45

Please help me to find a nice black going out top to wear with black jeans and sandals/wedges.

I am short and fat!

I need something I wouldn't wear for work.

Thanks

V neck silk vest top from M&S. The v is visually flattering and the top skims loosely over the stomach. It's also lined in silk so it doesn't cling.

Do you mind showing arms?

princessjelly · 30/05/2019 14:04

I would rather not show all my arms - they're a bit flabby!

Wallis is always worth a look. Their tops are very forgiving. I actually tried on a black top there today that had batwing sleeves in a chiffon fabric down to the elbow. It was too much fabric for me, but then I like my arms out. But I remember thinking it'd be good for someone who hated their arms.

Size & budget OP? I find batwing or voluminous sleeves make you look bigger, not sure if you care or not but thought I's mention!

I like this, but quite pricey, IMO.

Or this

They're both a bit glitzy but as they are black with black jeans it won't be OTT IMO.

I'd wear either of those, I'm medium size but like to be quite covered up, so no vest tops, unless on the beach Grin
