Holiday sandal help

Has anyone seen any stylish (but comfy and practical) sandals around? My online searches has led me to either flimsy/thin soles or chunky/frumpy sandals.

I usually wear low heeled sandals in the evening, but as part of a multi stay holiday we’re in a remote villa at the top of a very steep dirt track for six nights. There’s no way I can walk down in the evening in the shoes I usually wear, but don’t want to ruin a nice outfit with awful shoes.

Thanks!

Should add, as I most likely will only wear them during that stint of the holiday I don’t want to spend more than £50 please.

Moda in Pelle have lots of sandals with low wedges. Something like this ?

chasingseagulls · 29/05/2019 21:47

I’m sure I’ll be stomped on, but rather wasteful to be looking for shoes to wear just for a few weeks, no? I’ll happily spend a lot more thank the average MNer on shoes, but £50 is still a decent spend on a sandal so surely you can find something that will be fit for more than one trip?

Anyway, to answer your question, how about a Castener style espadrille with a low wedge and ankle tie?

Floralmoral · 29/05/2019 21:50

Shamelessly place marking. Wide size 8 here, finding a pair of sandals that look ok and are comfortable seems an impossible task. They can’t be completely flat either, it hurts my feet.

Graceymac99 · 29/05/2019 21:58

I have my eye on these at the moment.

A little more than £50 but there are always 20% off codes online for Boden.

countdowntonap · 29/05/2019 22:41

I do like the style of that Boden pair, but the sole looks a little flat/hard for comfort maybe?

I love my Birkenstocks by day, but they’ll be too casual for the clothes I’m taking.

A wedge could maybe work, but I don’t think the track is lit so will need to be really steady on my feet when walking at night. Love the look of my remote villa, but now thinking it could be a logistical/style nightmare Grin

Saltwater sandals are meant to be great and really comfy.

countdowntonap · 29/05/2019 23:03

Hmm, found these on Sports Direct but not sure whether they pass for stylish. So hard, as I need comfort but don’t want to look like I’ve taken by 70 year old mum’s shoes www.sportsdirect.com/kangol-adele-ladies-sandals-231472?colcode=23147203

My search has led me to Clarks. I haven’t worn Clarks since I was a small child... are they as comfy as they look?

Theses have a small heel but look rather sturdy. Are they too ugly, or will they pass?

They look too chunky to me, sorry OP. I do like the look of the Saltwater ones but I’ve not had the chance to try any on

happytobemrsg · 30/05/2019 14:49

Oh sorry. The ones you’ve bought are better than the ones you posted previously. I always find Clark’s super comfy

Bamaluz · 30/05/2019 16:12

There's 20% off on the Clarks outlet website using code MAYDEAL

I've just bought a pair of sandals for £25 with free delivery thanks to browsing after reading this thread, thanks OP.
