I haven't bought one but I follow caroline hirons and she doesn't recommended electric powered exfoliator type gadgets. I think it was the clarisonic she was writing about at the time, maybe the foreo is gentler and a different kettle of fish but I can't imagine it's great for sensitive skin. What products are you using and what's your full am and pm routine? The fantastic skincare thread is a good read, lots of questions and advice about what products people have used and like but maybe a bit overwhelming if you're new to skincare.

For about 20 years my routine has been only to cleanse in the evening as my skin is super sensitive. Twice a day was causing severe soreness rashes drying but then oil overproduction.

I have pcos so that doesn’t help and eczema and allergies
I was using simple for years and was fine and then they changed it .....burnt my face so I’ve had a few months now of trying to find the right products ....I’m struggling
Currently using avene tolerance it’s better than the skin recovery which was causing congestion

In the morning I literally just wipe gently round eyes apply a bit of eye cream and then lip balm
Evening is a gentle cleanse and remove with a warm damp flannel and apply moisturiser

I can’t wear make up and spf causes dreadful reactions I’ve been having to stay in and just avoid the sun this week even as skins so congested and sore
I’m wondering if the mini pill and pcos plus change in products is the combination from hell
My diet is great and I drink water. I’m very stressed though so that’s not helpful.

I just feel disgusting and wondered would the sensitive foreo help a bit

The mini pill will definitely be making your skin much worse if you’re acne prone, so I’d try and swap that as soon as you can.

Have you tried mineral sunscreen? It is supposed to be gentler.

I’ve used simple, ultrasun and la roche possy suncreams not sure if they are mineral ?

Foreo is made from silicon and much gentler than a Clarisonic as it doesn’t have bristles.

Dr Dray (a dermatologist) on YouTube reviews one. She basically said it didn’t do any harm, and it could be useful if you were someone who scrubs there own skin too hard when washing by hand/with a cloth, as it could help train you to be gentle with your skin.

I had one for a while. At first I tried the smallest one, liked it, then upgraded to the full-size one in sensitive skin. I actually found the sensitive skin one a little too gentle and so about a year in got one of the normal skin ones. The normal one has some larger nodules on it at the top edge that are useful for clearing pores at the edge of the nose.

Used them happily for a couple of years whilst I had quite a complex skin routine. I used them with creamy cleansers not foaming ones by the way. Now I have a much simpler routine (more about moisturising than cleansing as my skin has changed in my 40s) so I don’t use them much any more.

But I did like my Foreo, found it very useful and very relaxing. It has a very gentle sort of massage effect. It made my skincare routine a pleasant experience at a time it was a pretty stressful thing, when I had lots of stress related problems with my skin (family bereavements and work issues). Morning and evening routines became something I could relax and enjoy and looked forward to. That aspect helped as much as anything I think.
