The dreaded 'smart-casual' dress code

I have just looked properly at an invitation I have for the 7th June which I thought was black tie/cocktail dress and found that it is smart casual.

It's a summer party for my husband's work and in quite a smart venue so I would rather be on the smart end of casual but am a bit lost as to what to wear. I was planning a Ted Baker scuba dress with bardot neckline but that now feels a bit formal.

I'm 5'2 and an hourglass 12. I also live in southern Europe so it will be pretty warm. If you can suggest anything at all it would be awesome!

What you suggested sounds good. Better to err on the side of caution. You'll look great.

Crikey sounds glamorous

Can I come too?

I can't post pics for some reason on my mobile but its this one

Maybe wedges would make it look more relaxed.

The dress looks lovely! Maybe wedges or even kitten heals and a cross body clutch (but not worn cross body if you know what I mean)

That is gorgeous. Think it's perfect
