What’s your ‘go to’ cream for spots/chapped or sore bits?!

I would have said Germolene back in the day when it was pink and smelt lush! Now, I suppose it’s Sudocrem but it’s very messy!

I had an antiseptic tea tree one lady tear which was quite good though.

Any recommendations?

Germaline is still pink! I always have a tube in, also savlon, sudocrem and Vaseline.

OneOfTheGrundys · 29/05/2019 15:15

Dryness, the 8 hour ointment. Antiseptic, tea tree. Or sudocrem for both at the same time.

fedup21 · 29/05/2019 15:16

Germaline is still pink!

Google ‘discontinued germolene ointment’ -it’s not the same stuff Sad. The cream doesn’t smell like it used to!!

chapped and sore bits - 8 hour cream every time. I'm addicted to the stuff
spots - sudocrem

BasilBooBoo · 29/05/2019 15:23

I still love germolene. It smells the same as in the 90s to me.

paintwater · 29/05/2019 15:26

Dry bits definitely Weleda skin food.
For spots a witch hazel and tea tree cream that I get from home bargains, can’t remember the brand

StrumpersPlunkett · 29/05/2019 15:26

Germonlene for scratches and scrapes
sudocreme for dry chapped or blisters and spots

XingMing · 29/05/2019 16:41

La Roche Posay Cicaplast is my sudocrem substitute. Much spendier and smaller tubes, but it sinks in. Or Homeoplasmine.

Can anyone tell me if Clinique do a 8 hour cream dupe? I've got seriously sore lips after trying on and swiftly removing a out of date MAC lipstick and I need help asap! The country I live in doesn't have blistex or caramex or any other lip treatment but it does have Clinique and Estée Lauder.

waspsontoast · 30/05/2019 10:35

Estee Lauder make 8 hour cream!

DramaRamaLlama · 30/05/2019 10:38

8 hour cream on most things but for lips the best is the old chapstick.

FinallyHere · 30/05/2019 11:33

Can you get coconut oil? Fixes anything due to lack of moisture and leaves my skin very soft

You only need a tiny amount. Anyone I know who is not thrilled with the effect has used loads.

BusterGonad · 30/05/2019 11:41

waspsontoast thank you! I'll have a look for it tomorrow!

BusterGonad · 30/05/2019 11:48

@waspsontoast I've googled it and can't find it! Sad

waspsontoast · 30/05/2019 11:52

Oh no sorry it's Elizabeth Arden that make it!

BusterGonad · 30/05/2019 11:57

Ha ha. Yes I know I was hoping for a dupe, as I haven't got an Elizabeth Arden!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 30/05/2019 12:15

Drapolene is the best. Think you have to ask at the pharmacy counter now but it sorts out sunburn, nappy rash, chapped skin overnight.

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 30/05/2019 12:18

Another vote for cicaplast! Not for spots though, but it’s very soothing on sore bits (or your whole face if you’ve overdone it with the retinol!)

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 30/05/2019 12:36

@BusterGonad Clinique do an amazing lip balm, it used to be called Pep overnight mask but in the U.K. it’s now called moisture surge lip treatment but it’s the same stuff. Seriously THE best lip balm I have ever used, that’ll sort any sore lips out

I like to use Aloe Propolis Crème - The best of aloe and beehive beauty!

At the lack of any decent shops in my current country if residents I've purchased Bepanthen as I've woken up today with red, sore puffy under eyes. So I'll use the Bepanthen on my eyes and lips. I literally bought it, tore the box open and drenched my lips in the stuff. Bliss. They are tingling slightly but are feeling a bit better, I've done my eyes too but have no mirror on me to check results!

BusterGonad · 31/05/2019 06:41

I'm feeling really sorry for myself today. I look effing terrible!

BonAccordSpur · 31/05/2019 06:42

Sudocrem(face or lady-parts/Eumovate-anywhere else!
