First time posting on this board but hopefully someone can help...
I am off out for my birthday next weekend and we are going somewhere quite fancy so I need to dress up. Although I LOVE fashion I never dress smartly (I work from home, so not even for work etc) and my usual style is colourful dungarees, converse, etc....
Anyway, I now have most of an outfit together and really love it. Am wearing this dress:

I need a jacket or cover up or similar to wear over the top of it but I'm struggling to find one I like. I feel a bit frumpy in shrugs. Usually I'd wear a leather or denim jacket with a dress but that doesn't feel quite right...
Any suggestions welcome! Also re: what to do with my hair. It's mid length and dark and I hate wearing it up unless I'm at the gym.
Am 5ft3 and a size 12, if relevant.
