How much upkeep are silvery/metallic hair tones?

I'm currently growing out a long(ish) pixie cut. I'm able to tuck it behind my ears now and I'm aiming for a bob. It's a darkish mousey-brown naturally, with a few (grown out) highlights.

I fancy a big change, and I've been fawning over a silver/lilac/metallic-y shade? I've attached a few pics - I appreciate they're all very different.

What would be the process from my current natural colour to this?

What would upkeep be like?

I don't have huge budget so is it something I could maintain at home once done?

TIA

I have bleached highlights every 12 weeks and just use fanola purple shampoo to tone. My hair looks a lighter version of the third pic.
So around £120 for 1/2 head highlights and £10 for shampoo.

It really depends on the intensity you are aiming for. Ultimately you’ll need some kid of bleach either as highlights or whole head (I’ve done this). I wouldn’t attempt this at home though as it’s very damaging to hair. As Habibi says Purple shampoo is great at toning the blonde to a cool tone, you can also ask the hairdresser to put a toner through when you have it bleached/highlighted. The toner and purple shampoo fade out so you can experiment quite often.
You’ll have to work out your own tolerance for roots but I used to manage 7 weeks with a fully bleached pixie, could probably do more with a bob as the issue with the pixie was the trim rather than major roots.
Also, mousey is a great colour to do this to!
Good luck!

Loads of purple/lilac toners out there once you have your hair bleached up. Avoid anything too blue/green as these undertones are very difficult to remove if fancy a change x

Loving the encouragement, thank you all!

I have to admit that it's the roots I'm most worried about. I like the sort of 'faded' root look in some of the pictures, where the dye isn't right to the root and sort of blends, if that makes sense? Not sure if that will be possible with a bob?
