Black skinny jeans?

Hi,

Any recommendations on where to buy thick material non stretch skinny jeans? I don't like the super soft, thin feel. In particular I'm looking for black ones. I'm a size 8-10 with a 28inch leg. Black skinnys always feel so thin!

Please help!

I like river islands black skinny jeans.

MrsMonster · 28/05/2019 11:43

Thank you.

Any particular type? Are they a nice thick proper denim material??
Thanks again!

I like the Topshop Jamie jeans but my black ones did fade a bit after about a year.

Elllllle · 28/05/2019 12:10

Topshop Jamies. They do stretch but are thick. Apparently they have non-fade ones out now

MrsMonster · 28/05/2019 18:30

I'll take a look, thank you guys! I wonder why black skinny jeans feel so different to blue ones? They always seem thinner????

Have you looked at Dorothy Perkins? I have their black Darcy skinny ankle grazers.

GreenFlamingo11 · 28/05/2019 18:42

I know what you mean Mrs Monster, it took me ages to find 'proper' black jeans. Can't stand the really thin ones. Mango do good thick ones too.

Lori67 · 28/05/2019 18:50

I have nice thick ones from next

MrsMonster · 28/05/2019 18:53

Both Dorothy Perkins and Mango look like good options, however this brings me to my next issue. I only have 28 inch legs! Grin Do you think I'll be okay with either of these?

@GreenFlamingo11 Any particular Mango jeans? I've seen the Olivia Organic and they look perfect however, again, leg length is an issue!

Thanks ladies! Grin

Tu skinny jeans at Sainsbury's are my go to jeans; they wash and wear well with no sag and are great value at £15-20 a pair.

GreenFlamingo11 · 28/05/2019 19:13

I can't remember the name of mine I'm afraid and the label has worn off Hmm but having a quick look at the mango website they have quite a few cropped styles which might be normal length for you? I have 32 inch legs and their normal length jeans are a god length for me.

BikeRunSki · 28/05/2019 19:20

Boden Trafalgar; thick denim, a bit stretchy, doesn’t fade. Skinny and straight leg styles.

tierraJ · 28/05/2019 19:41

Yes the premium Darcy

reb99 · 28/05/2019 21:46

Can't go wrong with a pair of Nudie jeans. On the pricey side but you will definitely get a black pair 100% cotton and of a decent weight / thickness. Try the different 'fits' out in a shop though before ordering as the fit is very personal. If you get it right you should have a lovely, well made pair of jeans that fit like a glove and will last a long time. For a budget option Gap were doing 12oz 100% cotton jeans, but I'm not sure if they do them in black. Paul Smith - another pricey option, but again definitely a quality jean.

Thedarklady · 28/05/2019 21:49

Levis.

Zombiemama · 28/05/2019 21:52

Reading with interest - Jamie Jeans from Topshop and the Petite section from next are great. I too need a 28inch leg

Also has anyone with the fade issue tried the Dylon sheets for keeping black more vibrant!?

BarrenFieldofFucks · 28/05/2019 21:55

I like next Hypercurve skinnies, my black ones are soft and thick.

GreenFlamingo11 · 28/05/2019 21:56

I am tempted to try the Dylon die Zombiemama but I'm afraid it won't dye evenly and/or the faff of having to clean the machine after. It's also a lot of water to waste - you have to run the garment through 2 cycles and then clean the machine. I wonder how foolproof it is?

Rainbowknickers · 28/05/2019 23:10

I use Dylan dye in the machine all the time-it evenly ‘coats’ the fabric and I’ve never had to clean the machine afterwards
My black skinnies are next and peacocks

championquartz · 29/05/2019 09:23

If you wear them loads, I'd invest in J Brand Maria jeans. Omg they're great. Like the Topshop Jamie blue ones but way better. And buy them tight - you need to be doing the jeans dance to get into them initially. So worth the money. And I say that as a high street shopper.

Katiepoes · 29/05/2019 09:33

Another vote for Nudie - mine are coming up on seven years old and are still in good shape. I refreshed the colour last year with the Dylon stuff you put in the machine, even a good pair will fade eventually.

Right now I'm wearing the H&M ones, they have a bit more stretch and are thinner but still look good, for the price I'm happy with them.

GreenFlamingo11 · 29/05/2019 09:45

Rainbowknickers have your items faded at all since using Dylon? Curios to know how long it would last.

BikeRunSki · 29/05/2019 09:52

I use Dylon on black and navy stuff. I only ever need to do it once, lasts for years. Having said that, my black Boden jeans have not faded in the year I have had them.
