I’ve ordered one and reviews are mixed, some saying it’s amazing and others saying it’s not all that.

I’ve got longish hair, about 18 inches with a fringe. There is a little bit of layering near the ends.

Any tips I should know? In the videos I’ve seen no one is sectioning their hair off, which I currently do when I dry my hair as I have quite a lot of it.

What brushes do you use?

Any advice welcome, thank you.

My husband purchased me one for my bday when it first came out. It isn't bad but it is not worth £300 whatsoever! The design is great and the magnetic part for the attachments to clip onto and its still going strong 3 years later however when it does give up the ghost, I won't be purchasing another one. There is a limit to how much a hairdryer can do and it's not different to one half the price.

Sure get some envious looks in the changing rooms I might add though! Grin

@MrsMonster

Thank you.

I’ve had all different dryers over the years and I like the idea of it being lightweight. I’ll give it a whirl as I’ve got 30 days with QVC to use it and then return it if I don’t like it.

I wonder what they do with the returns?

I'm not sure about their returns policy however trying it can't hurt! I've just found personally that if it wasn't a gift to me, I would've sent it back. Its meant to help your hairs condition but I've found not colouring and using heat on my hair has restored mine, not the Dyson. I do only use the lowest heat though.

Cool shot doesn't particularly cool either. Let me know how you get on! Smile

Soola · 28/05/2019 18:52

I’ve ordered it from qvc and they give you 30 days to try it and you can return it used.

I was hoping the cool shot would be cool so will be disappointed if it isn’t.

I love mine! I can see anyone with short hair might not see the benefit but I went from avoiding drying my hair with a hairdryer unless absolutely necessary to actually preferring to dry it with the Dyson! It might be the anti-static bit that does it for me, not sure, but my hair actually looks smooth rather than completely all over the place like it used to be!

Had long hair when I got it (right down my back) and now have shorter hair (just below my shoulders). I use Tangle Teaser blow drying brushes (have both a paddle and a round one - the latter is good for flicking the ends of my layers).

EdWinchester · 28/05/2019 18:54

I like mine, but the cool shot is not cool.

katseyes7 · 28/05/2019 18:55

l got mine from QVC, and l kept it. lt's very fast - l can dry my hair in a tv ad break.

MrsMonster · 28/05/2019 19:03

@katseyes7 I don't go any higher than low heat as the highest feels like its frying my scalp and hair!

katseyes7 · 28/05/2019 19:05

MrsMonster l don't either, in fact l've just dried my hair and l used the cool shot for about half of it! My hair's wavy and l don't want it to go frizzy.

Lenny1980 · 28/05/2019 19:08

I loved mine but found it to be unreliable. Broke shortly after the guarantee ended. I wouldn’t spend that amount of money on one again.

MrsMonster · 28/05/2019 19:20

@katseyes7 My cool shot has never been particularly cool, love the sound it makes when it turns on though!

MrsMonster · 28/05/2019 19:22

@Lenny1980 Gutted for you that it broke after the guarantee! I let my hair air dry 90% of the time anyway therefore I think £100 is going to be my limit next time. A £300 hairdryer is no better than a £100 one in my experience.

Soola · 30/05/2019 20:30

First experience is I like it! It dried my hair very quickly and I found it easy to use.

Shame the stickers plastered over the delivery box mention it being manufactured in Malaysia where Dyson has taken his production.

But I don’t like the stand. I’m going to sell the stand and buy a case instead.

@soola my didn't come with a case and when I looked at the cases I realised that the large diffuser doesn't fit in them. I ended up keeping mine (and attachments and hair brushes) in a Cath Kidston oilcloth handbag!

Soola · 30/05/2019 21:06

@Weathergirl1

Thank you for that info. I haven’t actually seen a case online that I like so I am glad you posted as a bag sounds much more practical.

@Soola glad you like it! How's the cool shot?
