Running tights - suggestions needed

I've recently started with Couch to 5K and need a second pair of running/exercise leggings.
I have one pair from GAP, which I mainly use for my weekly dance class, however they don't have a drawstring only stay up once I'm really sweaty (sorry, if TMI).

Today I went and had a look at Sports Direct, Gap, TK Maxx and M&S, but they didn't have what I wanted, in fact, the Sports Direct selection was actually pretty dire.
Yesterday I tried a pair of Under Armour at John Lewis and allegedly I should fit into their size L, I couldn't even get them past my thighs.

My ideal pair should either have a guarantee to stay up, or even better a drawstring and should be capri or 7/8 length.
Budget no more than £40-45, which means no LuluLemon or Sweatty Betty.

Any ideas what brand I could try? I'm a UK 14/16 and (sadly) almost all my extra weight is around my tummy, behind and thighs.

Thanks :)

Lucylocketloves, tikiboo or sturdybydesign.

Some are a bit out there but there are some more subtle ones too.

beeyourself · 26/05/2019 20:56

Sturdy by design - every time.

MrsTJOsbornee · 26/05/2019 20:56

I use the gym wear from Matalan. They stay up and wash really well. I am also doing the c25k.

Bollockwort · 26/05/2019 20:57

I think the person who designs these was a personal trainer herself:

Lucy Locket Loves

I love the designs and they go to size 22!

bestegg · 26/05/2019 20:57

Ronhill are really good, they are quite high waisted so i find they fit really comfortably. They wear and wash well too!

tattychicken · 26/05/2019 20:58

Decathlon.

LemonBreeland · 26/05/2019 20:58

Decathlon have some good stuff, agree with Matalan being good too.

scratchbass · 26/05/2019 21:01

Ronhill, I've worn only them for 4 years. If you're not fussy on having this years colours you can get a good deal on amazon/eBay.

SisterFarAway · 26/05/2019 21:06

Thank you so much for your suggestions, now you've given me something to do on Bank Holiday Monday.

Decathlon for great value. I’m not a fan of tiki boo - they don’t sit well on me although very nice designs. If you have any outlets near you I like Nike as well and often get them at a good price there.

AuntieStella · 26/05/2019 21:15

Decathlon.

I have several pairs (in various lengths, colours and weight of fabric) and I've thought all are really good. And yes, they have drawstrings. Also pockets.

SisterFarAway · 26/05/2019 21:17

I live in London, so could easily reach both Wembley Designer Outlet (Asics, Nike, Adidas) or the IKON at the O2 (Asics and Adidas?). Might just go to Decathlon tomorrow.

fabletics powerhold, amazing. sign up as a VIP to get the 2 for 22 deal then cancel the VIP membership or you'll get charged (which you can then use to shop though!)

HundredMilesAnHour · 26/05/2019 21:34

Tikiboo have 25% off this bank holiday weekend with code BHOL25. They're a bit loud (most of them - I like the camo ones) but the quality is great. Wicking fabric (that feels nice against your skin), a pocket for your phone/keys and a very solid drawstring.

Fruityb · 26/05/2019 21:34

I liked Matalan as well

Marmite27 · 26/05/2019 21:35

Another vote for LucyLocketLoves. They’re not cheap though!

BikeRunSki · 26/05/2019 21:36

Alpkit and Howies are my favourites

EllenRachel · 26/05/2019 21:37

I like my decathlon and under armour ones the best

WhatWouldPennyDo · 27/05/2019 09:03

You’d pick up Sweaty Betty or Lululemon on eBay for that price. If you’d rather not wait for that, Nike or Ronhill are with a look.

MoltonSilver · 27/05/2019 09:41

Anything with a high waist should stay up. My best pair are addidas.

Bloomburger · 27/05/2019 09:47

If you go in the Reebok site there us an outlet tab and they are all great value and good quality.

BikeRunSki · 27/05/2019 09:49

Actually, I really like MPG. They are a “tall” brand and have a high rise because of the tallness. I have a 32” inside leg, and they are just about not tooooo long for me.

AllPizzasGreatAndSmall · 27/05/2019 10:13

I like Nike Epic Lux.
