Help! Quick drying shorts?

Going to Orlando in a couple of weeks for the second time. Last year we got soaked on the water rides and my linen shorts ended up heavy, damp all day, and chafed the life out of my inner thighs.

What sort of material would be good to dry quickly? I'm size 20 so I think those gym type short shorts may be a no-go.

Any ideas?

Polyester or nylon dry the fastest - but these fabrics are clingy. You could wear a long top with them if you are self-conscious. Bamboo and merino wool are also good fast drying fabrics but its harder to find clothes in these fabrics and they can be expensive.

So like a running short or cycling short then?

Have a look at Uniqlo Airism range. That's what you need. Not sure if they have shorts tho.

Try an outdoors brand? I bought some Regatta quick dry shorts for my DS, these look like the women’s version
