Summer Bag

My collection of leather bags feel so wrong in this weather. I need something sturdier than a canvas/cotton book bag, bigger than a camera bag and not made of straw (don't like the feel) preferably shoulder strap or cross body, not hand held.

Does anything like this exist?

What about a Longchamp La Pliage? I bought a Ralph Lauren Nylon tote last year and its very sturdy and looks like new despite being used for shopping and travel. I also have some lighter and brighter leather bags although I love tan leather against white and cream in the summer.

Agree about the Pliage . Lots of colours , sizes and is light and durable.

How about Kipling?
I always thought they were a bit aging but then found a really nice one in the outlet with no logo in a bronze colour material with a leather strap I just took the monkey off

The longchamps aren't really for me.

I had a lovely summery straw bag last year but couldn't get on with the texture, caught on my clothes and felt rough. I look be the style though.

Maybe a really soft leather bag in a much lighter shade would work?

Woven plaited or pierced leather - I think the texture makes it lighter and more summery. (Patent leather and croc for winter)

I have Kipling , I put them in the washing machine (in a netbag) inside out , they come out fine.

I haven't bought any light ones myself but I'd consider it.

MaiTui are a bit shiney for day wear but I have a Pewter evening clutch which is nice .

I like a bag that I can throw about .

I’m usually a Mulberry girl, but bought a silver bag from Clark’s last week. A bit like the one linked below - big enough for my bits but not huge, and a nice long cross body strap.

I’d still plug for my RL tote as it’s much sturdier than a Pliage and they’re often half price.

A few of us bought this last year from another thread, I have the blue/beige one but the tan looks nice, it’s light but not too slouchy and not enormous www.myexquisiteshop.com/products/olivia-fine-italian-leather-shoulder-tote.

M&S also have nylon totes which are budget friendly, although every time I flick back to the website their pictures disappear, not sure if that’s me or them.

Tk Max often have a good choice of summer bags. Wonder if a small backpack might suit you, I’ve never really fancied one but they are so popular.

I love Matt and Nat Vegan bags. You can’t tell they aren’t leather, are very hard wearing but also soft to touch.

Thank you for the Mai Tui recommendation! I've been looking for a new work bag for ages and these are PERFECT!

I would stick to leather if budget allows but in a summery colour. Yellow, orange or pale blue are nice bag colours for summer.
