Could this dress be altered to fit??

I really really want this dress, but it's only available from ASOS and only in a size L. I'd need a small, I'm around a size 8.

Would a seamstress be able to alter it to fit? Or would it not work given the shape/fit of the dress?

I'll be honest and say if I was a seamstress (I sew a lot and dressmake, but I won't alter unless its for me) I wouldn't touch that with a bargepole. There would be hours and hours of work involved picking that all apart and putting it together again.

Thanks @sugarbum, being a short-arse I get a lot of things altered and I did wonder if this was a bridge too far!

I can't find it in my size anywhere else Will have to forget it and move on I think

It would end up being more expensive than buying a new dress. If you like that style just go to another shop

There are loads of similar styles on asos I've just had a nosey

There are similar styles, but nothing else quite like that one and for some reason that is the one I've really taken to!

I will check daily, in case they get more stock in.
