Hi
My MIL is going on a trip to Portugal in June and I think she might be struggling with the heat a bit. it's her birthday coming up and I thought a hand held electric fan with rechargeable batteries that fits in her handbag might be an idea plus some kind of cooling facial spray? I had a google and while I don't want literally just water in spray bottle, I also don't want anything too "scientificky" that might end up giving her a rash. and also, do these sprays, if they exist, still cool you down after they've been carried around in a handbag in a hot climate for hours? Does anyone know what I mean and have any suggestions? I THINK something like Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Miracle Hydrating Mist might be what I am after, has anyone got any experience with this or similar products?
Thank you!!!

Body shop do a few facial mists which I really like - the mint one is lovely!

I've got a fan off Amazon that recharges I think it was about £12. I use Avene thermal water spray, obviously its only water but it's really refreshing and you can often get it on offer.

Magicool spray is really good.

Another vote for the avene thermal water spray. I use it on me and the kids, it shouldn’t irritate her eyes.

I keep an evian mist facial spray in my bag, but also a fold up paper fan, i suffer from hot flushes and my first few battery fans were always run down or run out when I urgently needed a wafting Grinmy paper one never fails me.

Just checked in to see if there were more suggestions. Thank you all again. I might look into paper fans actually.....

Neal's Yard White Tea spray is gorgeous. I took it on holiday last year and it was fantastic on excursions and super hot days. Very cooling and refreshing.

Mario Badescue - off Amazon. Keep it in the fridge for utimate cooling.

Definitely magicool spray. You can have it in a hot bag all day and it stays really cold.

The other thing to get might be one of those ice towels. You just pour any water in them, wring it out and they’re fully cold.

still more tips coming in - thank you!! :-)

I took an Evian spray to Lisbon and it was great. John Lewis do a fantastic hand held fan for £12 which is guaranteed for 2 years.
